His words, and his kiss, helped her confidence increase more. A look of faint pride came over her as she returned the kiss, body pressed against his, her hands cupping his face as her fingers teased the ends of his hair.

After a moment, she pulled back, just a little, her hands staying where they were, as she stared into his eyes with a look of defiance and confidence. "I'm yours." It was a statement, one that they both already knew extremely well, though she rarely stated it out loud. Showed it every day with her actions, but words were somehow definite. And her lips curled into a smirk.

"And you're mine."

Now that was a new element, and yet she seemed both calm and certain when she said it, her look almost playfully daring him to disagree. Because they were each others. There was no word to define their relationship, but they understood each other, belonged to each other. It may have taken Tahiri a while to truly see it, but it was the simple truth of it really.
