Who:Clark and Kon
What:Figuring things out
When:Last weekend (Backdated to the weekend!)
Where:The Fortress
Warnings:

Kon was getting more and more frustrated with everything lately. Clark insisting something was wrong wasn't helping. Of course he felt like something was wrong, but if he had the words-if he knew what it was, he would tell him. But he didn't. He knew he didn't feel hungry lately, most food in fact made him feel queasy rather than satisfied. He just didn't know why, and the more questions or concerned looks he got the more defensive or closed off he became. He was grateful when the weekend hit. It meant just hanging around with Clark, and apparently no tests. So he thought anyway. It'd started out nice enough, but then gradually Kon became more irritated, mostly at nothing really. Little things that normally wouldn't have bothered him. At one point very nearly melting Clark's fork with heat vision in retaliation.

And so off to the Fortress it was. He really hadn't meant to snap at anyone, but he just didn't want food. He didn't want to leave the complex, he only wanted to stay at Clark's. Most of the time spent there, involved Kon staying closer to Clark than he usually would. Even the idea of Clark going into another room was upsetting. Kon followed him everywhere. The Fortress was no exception. He had a little trouble staying in the air at first, but then he seemed better the closer they got to the sun. Of course all that changed when they arrived at the large ice gates. Kon stumbled ion the walk way that lead up to them instead of properly landing. A wave of dizziness flooded over him. It hit him so hard and so fast he actually fell to his knees against the ground.

All Kon really wanted was one weekend of nothing going wrong. Some times he hated being what he was. He just wanted to be able to have a normal life. Maybe not entirely human and normal, but normal enough for a Kryptonian who wasn't pasted together by freaky scientists. He made a sound of discomfort as he pushed himself back up and brushed off his hands on his pants.

And for the most part, the time spent had actually been fine. Save the lack of eating, he was relatively normal. Then he confessed he'd actually feel a little safer if they went to the Fortress. He wasn't entirely sure why, but staying at the complex he didn't feel right. The Fortress had become sort of a safe zone for him. When things weren't right he knew he could go there and get away. Things were most certainly not right. He just wished he knew or had the words for why. He rubbed at his head as he stood from his awful landing, and grimaced. It hadn't hurt, but the impact had ben enough of a jostle to scatter him a bit.

Then Clark was looking directly at him. He met his eyes for only a second and then looked to the side. His own were the exact same color as Clark's, but filled with uncertainty. "I don't know." He finally admitted. He didn't want to be a burden or get in the way, but it didn't seem like Clark was going to let him go on that easily. So he finally admitted. He was not sure what was going on. "I'm just tired all the time, Food looks gross. I don't want to eat it and I don't know why." He was angry though. So much so that he'd taken to hiding in his apartment for the most part, not wanting to be social anymore.

"But I'm tired of it. I'm tired of not.." He hesitated, he didn't want to say he wasn't normal. He didn't mind being what he was, he just didn't want to be malfunctioning and what he was. "Normal." He frowned. "I'm not human, I'm not alien. Maybe I am just a mistake." How many times had he heard Luthor utter those words at CADMUS in the tubes as he watched them work. "It'd probably just be easier to shut me down or something." He wasn't even sure that was an option, but he also thought it might be possible. It was hard to explain, it was just a feeling.
