The 1890's. Now that was a long time ago. "Was it the coffee that brought you here during the 1890's or were you just here for the sights?" He was no Lois Lane, but Clark was still a fairly curious person himself. Learning that someone he was visiting a different country with had been here in an entirely different generation made it hard for him not to wonder what she had seen back then and how much this place had changed since.
Clark rolled the sleeves of his plaid shirt up to the elbow and gestured for Helena to walk with him. "It's not far off." He led them out toward the street, which was much busier than the quiet alley that they'd landed in. After cautiously edging away from a man barreling his way down the stone paved sidewalk on a bicycle, Clark took to a path and kept to it. He wasn't completely familiar with Copenhagen himself, but he remembered enough of the area to get them to where they were going without getting them lost.
He needed to do this more often. Get away. Go out and explore the world. He used to do it all the time, but everything changed after Doomsday. Then there was the apocalypse. The seal. Everything. He still took off every once and a while, but it wasn't the same as it used to be. Maybe he'd change that. Maybe he'd bring more people out to different places like this when he could so that they could take a breath away from the weight that came attached to living in Lawrence. With a threat that no one could find or stop, there wasn't much that Superman could do to help and he ultimately needed to help. It was in his nature. It was who he was. So maybe he wasn't fighting off villains or saving the day in a typically heroic sense, but he could still do this for people, right? He could still be a friend. He could still help, in his own way, even if it meant just being there for someone who needed to talk.
"Right there," Clark said, extending an arm to point out between two cars. A black and white sign suspended in the distance bearing the title 'Paluden' was practically flagging them down, standing out easily among it's surrounding buildings with the glow of chandeliers against book shelves peering out from it's tall windows. "See?" Clark shot Helena a grin. "Much better than the alley."
