"Do you think it was a mistake that I let Lexi give me her blood to heal my shoulder?" Helena finally asked. She had no idea how long the silence had existed, and she looked over at Svetlana. It was undoubtedly a question that had no real answer, right or wrong, but it was one that was hanging in her mind so she felt she should express it and not let herself dwell on it silently. As a mother, she knew it had probably been the better choice. It had allowed her to properly care for Emily once Svetlana had returned her to her care. She didn't have to make allowances for an injured and healing shoulder. But on the other side, it had meant she had no physical reminder of what had happened, nothing to remind her she needed to deal with the event. So here she was, a year later, and only now was she letting herself embrace and accept what had happened in order to let herself heal and move on from it.
