Even with Helena's own issues of the date, she had a feeling Svetlana could also use the company. With the memories of Lawrence, of not having her daughters here, the Russian woman was no doubt having a hard time adjusting. Helena knew the feeling of not having a child around, the odd sense of not having that constant around. It had been something Helena had felt each time Christina had been sent to stay with cousins and other family members because Helena had been working. Helena also knew the haze that set in upon getting memories of this place back.
While those were also reasons for her going to see Svetlana, another reason was because she needed that person who could read between the lines with her. She didn't expect Svetlana to instantly remember what had happened a year ago due to her memories coming back, but she wanted to take comfort in that unspoken understanding. So once Svetlana let her in, Helena took the bag with the two bottles of vodka in it over to the table and set it down, pulling one of them out and went about opening it as Svetlana got a couple glasses. The vodka was Russian, of course. It wouldn't have been anything else, really.
Despite there having been little conversation when she'd been there the other day, with Svetlana and Helena actions and body language had a tendency to speak for them, which was how she knew she wasn't intruding on Svetlana. If she had been, she either wouldn't have answered the door at all or she would've told her to come back another time. When Svetlana brought the cups over, Helena poured them both a drink.
"How are you settling in?" Helena asked, knowing Svetlana wasn't exactly fine so asking after that was meaningless. At least Lawrence wasn't being bombarded with chaos right now so Svetlana could actually take the time to process things. Likewise, it also allowed Helena an opportunity to process things that haunted her. She hoped she could get through Sunday without chaos reigning down on them because Helena needed the time for herself and to properly take in the events that had happened this week in the history of her life.
