"Exactly, I'm relieved that things here are basically the same as home technology-wise." Because obviously there wasn't an apocalypse happening back home nor were there demons, monsters and superheroes running around. This place certainly was rather unique, but despite the fact she'd jumped ahead in time by a couple months, most everything was still the same. Lizzie was rather glad she didn't get thrown into the distant future, or even the past. The past would no doubt have proven the most challenging to her given the fact she tended to be out-spoken and not every time period in history appreciated out-spoken women. "I should be able to find something relatively easily. Which will also make things easier. Getting into anything too complicated may not be the best idea given the way things can go chaotic here from time to time."
When William offered her a chair, Lizzie was a bit impressed. He did certainly have manners, and she liked manners. And then William was teasing, which Lizzie found a little odd as she wasn't used to seeing him tease in such a manner. Or at all, really. "Oh definitely. I wouldn't be surprised if they even walked by while we're sitting here." Lizzie also glanced out the window, wondering where exactly their sisters were hidden. The only question was whether or not she give Lydia a hard time for this or find some other way to return the awkward favor.
Sitting there, Lizzie also felt the awkwardness creeping in. She wasn't exactly certain what topic of conversation to branch next. But then William took care of that. Library. Oh yes, she could talk about the library. Books were always a safe topic that she could talk about. "A couple times, yes. Have you been there yet?" It certainly wasn't the worst conversation topic they could discuss, and clearly it was a subject only two people who found reading enjoyable could even really make into a conversation.
