Who: Lizzie Bennet and William Darcy
What: The Dizzie Trap™
Where: Ice Cream Parlor near Stark Industries
When: Around 5:30pm 6/24/13
Status/Rating: in progress/low!
Though William would never say outright how he was feeling to anyone, even to himself, he allowed the good emotions he had felt the last few days dictate his interactions. Because of his internal optimism (every emotion he felt was internal, honestly, and therefore amplified), he managed to procure a position in his field, talk to Lizzie Bennet without an unfortunate amount of word vomit and to let Gigi win at poker. To say it simply, William Darcy felt good, and he was looking forward to meeting with younger sister after work for ice cream, regardless of the fact that they should really have eaten dinner first. In this confusing, terrifying new place, any progress William made without malfunctioning deserved to be celebrated, so he accepted the idea without protest.
He arrived precisely at 5:30, taking his time in the short walk from his new place of employment and the address Gigi had texted him earlier that day. He figured that he would give her an additional fifteen minutes to arrive before he quit the location, and Darcy narrowed his eyes in an effort to see the fine print on the board behind the counter. The words all blurred together and he dug into his pocket for his glasses, sliding the dependable frames on his face. Vision renewed, Darcy had just entered the surprisingly long line for that time of night, checking his watch.
He wasn't impatient; Darcy knew that Gigi would arrive when she was meant to and not a moment sooner, but he felt an unexpected trickle of uncertainty as he heard the door open and shut behind him.
There was really no reason for him to turn around. After all, he was completely certain that his sister would come attempt to tackle him at any moment. The urge to see who had entered quickly overtook any other instinct, so William turned.
A familiar head full of auburn hair made him turn around quickly and exhale sharply. How could he be so stupid? Of course Gigi was going to scheme; it was apparently her default reaction to everything. He half wanted to shake her by her shoulders and reiterate the fact that she had to stop these things and half wanted to thank her profusely. Because standing a few feet behind him was Lizzie Bennet, and now his mind had gone blank.
Composing himself quickly, Darcy extracted himself from the line, whilst pocketing his phone to move towards her, counting his breaths in and out of his nose.
He chanced a side glace at her, a small, self-deprecating grin on his face as he greeted her, one eyebrow arched. "Somehow I have the feeling Lydia was to meet you here. It may be a safe bet to assume that something urgent has come up."
