WHAT: Tonks's arrival
WHERE: Somewhere in Lawrence
WHEN: Tuesday, mid-afternoon
STATUS: In progress
Tonks was confused.
One moment she'd been dueling Bellatrix Lestrange in the Department of Mysteries. It hadn't been going well. She was pretty sure she'd been knocked out, because how else would she be... wherever she was? She wasn't quite sure how or where that was yet, and she chalked it up to the bump on her head. The hit must have made her Apparate involuntarily, or maybe it had been some sort of banishing spell that could send a person to a particular place? If that was possible, she didn't know the spell.
She was in a Muggle area, that much was obvious, and she certainly wasn't in London anymore. She started walking, and it didn't take her long to figure out that she was in a town called Lawrence, and that that town was in Kansas, which still didn't make any sense whatsoever. She'd been to New York City with her family when she was younger, and although she wasn't exactly sure where Lawrence, Kansas was, she had a good feeling it wasn't anywhere near New York. Or maybe it was a bad feeling. It was probably a bad feeling.
Regardless of how she'd gotten there, she was glad to be in one piece, although the headache that ensued from the bump on her head was fairly unforgiving. It was easy enough to hide the confusion from her face as she walked through town. The dizziness was harder to ignore. She found a bench and sat down, leaning forward and closing her eyes for a moment. She wasn't worried about finding a way back. The bigger problem would be locating her wand (which had to be nearby somewhere, she just must have dropped it). That, and finding some food, which would probably be difficult since she didn't have any Muggle money.
She still had her head in her hands when someone approached the bench she was sitting on, startling her a bit when she finally looked back up.
