"You're quick, Wings."
Castiel let the nickname pass. He was far more likely to be called something other than his correct name now. Generally he didn't mind. Nicknames could be a sign of acceptance... depending on what they were. Wings was in no way the worst thing he had been called though he maintained it was no longer accurate. Wingless, maybe. He was too concerned to make note of it now though. There was a demon in proximity of one of his friends and while Kenzi was no babe in the woods she was clearly busy battling gravity and equilibrium right now which didn't leave much room for battling anything else (Cas could attest to that from experience.)
He allowed her to use his shoulder for balance as she had him only a short time before. He even took her upper arm in hand to aid her attempt to stand. His other hand contained a bottle of water and a slick blade formed all from one piece of a silvery metal. He had not come to play gentle. Without his Grace they were both more vulnerable and the blade could even the playing field. To Castiel now it was the same as any blade but to a demon it was just as deadly.
But he had never gone into battle with a human attached to his shoulder. It called for some maneuvering. "Hold on to me," he said, placing his body between Kenzi and the door. He wanted her in close so she was easier to guard. His range was limited now. He could hear the sounds too, grunts and gasps. The evil thing was tormenting the very breath from it's victim. No wonder Kenzi had called him.
"We're going in," he growled. "Don't let go of my shoulder." Raising the open bottle of holy water in one hand and his angel blade in the other he kicked open the bathroom door splashing the water into the small room and chanting "Dues, et Pater domini nostri Jesu Christi..." before he even had time to focus on what was before him.
