Afraid. In a way. It had been a long while since Cosette had felt it, at least like this. In being alone with no one she really knew. She knew that Lois would check on her. And apparently Marius knew her. But for all purposes, Cosette felt alone. Something she had buried long ago, something she was not yet ready to face. Which was why at the moment, she was burying the fear and sticking with confusion. She could survive both, it was within her, the side no one seemed to see, not even her papa who always thought her too young to know the truth of their pasts. But she still would prefer having something to focus on to push the questions and insecurities away.
Answers would come soon enough, though.
Having been staring to the side in thought, Cosette blinked when she noticed movement through her peripheral vision. It seemed that Marius was waking up and.... Eponine and Enjolras weren't there. Vaguely she thought she recalled the mention of getting food or rest and that they would be back, though if it were together or not, Cosette couldn't really say. Going through the motions and trying to make sense of things in her own way was taking precedence. But given he was reaching for her, Cosette shifted so she was closer to the bed, taking Marius' hand in her own.
"You're awake."
Smiling faintly, she squeezed his hand gently. She did worry, worry about how he would respond to the situation they found themselves in, especially as she had no answers herself to give, worried because it seemed he believed both Eponine and Enjolras dead. Because he knew her when she only knew him from that moment in the street and stolen glances. She didn't have the answers, but it did seem that whatever had brought them here could pick and choose the time when they showed up from but it didn't make her feel any better. She really was going to need to get more answers, even if it meant trusting the strange device in the room at some point again. That was how to communicate with all of the people here who understood the situation it seemed.
