Elena simply shrugged at that. Mostly because people and their excessive worrying over her led to be locked in her house, or having vampire blood shoved down her throat or whatever else the extremists decided to throw at her. There was a difference between worry and stopping her from living her life, something Elena wasn't all that keen on doing. She never liked giving power to those who tried to terrorize the people just because she was human. It was annoying and demeaning. And she was just tired of it.
"Ever seen Disney's Sleeping Beauty? It's Maleficent. At least, that's the theory...." Which didn't bode well for people. Because Maleficent was insane. Straight up insane and it was obvious she lived to torment people and didn't care one way or the other on what damage she caused. In fact, the worse the damage, the better it was it seemed. Which Elena was so not okay with.
"No, not open. I just got pulled into all of it. Partially because of my ex, but more so because of who I am... even if I hadn't met Stefan.... I would have gotten tied into it. Knowing Stefan and Damon probably has given me an up, as odd as that is, because I'm more prepared. I know there are options." Okay, not the best of options, but she probably would have died during the Sacrifice. And well, okay, then all the pain after that could have been avoided. And it only was prolonging her death at home...
"The Originals. Basically a mother, the Original Witch, cast a spell on her family so that they would live forever because she lost her son. They became vampires. There's five of them. Their father is hunting them, or was... he's a vampire, it's the only way to do so. They only way they can be killed is decapitation and the stake dipped in the ash of the white oak tree....And to kill an Original is to kill every vampire who has been sired by their line.."
And then... the question about hybrids.
"Yeah.... Vampire and Werewolf hybrid. Basically invincible, decapitation seems to be the only way that I know of....But it's fine. It's part of this place, learning about things that should be familiar yet are different because of the multiple dimensions or worlds."
That had happened to Jeremy, and that was why it had become absolutely necessary for him to be sent to Denver, compelled or not. Because he deserved a normal life and even that wouldn't do any good in the long run. Though the definition of freshie was... sort of what she was expecting.
"Oh. Well. I guess it's better than at being fed from then compelled to forget? But most of the vampires I know stick to bagged blood, or animals."
