Who: Lois Lane and Emma and Aislinn Swan What: Mommy-n-Me Adventures! When: Sunday afternoon Where: I don't even know, some Gymboree type place I guess? Warnings: Emma isn't pleased, swearing may happen
"What the hell have you gotten me into?" Emma hissed between her teeth, as she gave Lois a side-eyed glare. Her friend had thought it would be fun to 'interact' with Aislinn and so they sat, cross-legged and surrounded by wide-eyed and happy mothers. Aislinn sat in her mother's lap, looking about as bored as Emma felt. Well. As bored as one could be when the actual feeling through them was one of horror.
Phoebe, their leader, may as well have been a Lawrence Seal-displaced transplant of the girl from Friends. She sat at the head of the circle, guitar in her lap, singing songs that the majority of the mothers (and aunts, and godmothers, and the one random father) sang along with. Some of the babies patted on drums or banged on little tamborines. Aislinn, however, opened her little mouth and gave a very impressive yawn. Emma giggled, ignoring the glare from the woman next to her. "Me too, sweetie," she whispered to her daughter, bouncing her a little to at least feign interest.
She was actually starting to think they should have gone with the newborn mommy-n-me yoga. At least that would be a start towards getting her figure back.
"Come on, everyone!" Phoebe announced in her syrupy pleasant voice. "We're going to sing the song about Froo Froo, the bunny rabbit. Looks like Katie has a bunny rabbit on her shirt, doesn't she?" While Katie's mother beamed, Aislinn's mother rolled her eyes. Of course her kid wasn't wearing anything as cheesy as a shirt with a big white rabbit on it. Only the most fashionable clothes for her daughter. Especially given who her godmother was.
That and white rabbits were just a little too storybook for Emma's taste.
"A whole hour, huh?" she muttered to Lois, taking Aislinn's little hands and clapping them.
