It was late but still Much couldn't sleep. There were too many things on his mind, not all of them bad but a lot of them confusing. The television was finally turned off, most of the lights except the one in the kitchen was off as well. He still didn't really know his way around so he needed something to go off of. He laid on the couch where they'd previously been watching tv together, Much didn't understand many of the references so he mostly slept through it. He slept through it in a pile of blankets Robin and Marian had given him, it was nice but it wasn't the forest. Much couldn't sleep.
He stood and made his way to the balcony Robin had showed him on the first day he'd arrived, staring up at a only vaguely starry night. He noted he could see more stars in the forest. He knew that life. Robin said life could be better in the modern world, but Much was thus far only frustrated with it. He was having a hard time fitting into modern society, to any one really. They were outlaws. Outcasts. It felt strange not to be sleeping in open air, he felt restless. True that he wasn't at the very least dead as he thought he might be, but he still felt on edge. Something in this world was terribly wrong. They were headed toward an apocalypse but the villagers outside their little building didn't even seem to notice as far as he could tell from his arrival.
It wasn't that home was so great that he missed it dearly, but he did miss the lads. Robin had so many friends now he really didn't know what to say to them or think of them. That seemed to be a theme of the week. How much confusion could the world bring. The moonlight touched his face and he sighed, rubbing his eyes tiredly.
Supposedly everyone was going to get out of that barn all right. He knew Robin wouldn't lie but still he worried. It'd all seemed hopeless. Part of him still felt it. The cold night wind blew against his face and caused him to shiver for a moment, but outside still felt better. Outside the world wasn't closing in on him so fast and he could actually breathe.
