In retrospect, Abby really should've expected Ziva would come running to her when she screamed, but that would also have required Abby to think logically, which she currently wasn't. In this moment, she was so afraid that Ziva was dead and wasn't actually there. She was afraid that she'd only dreamt, or hallucinated, Ziva being alive again. So when the shorter woman ran into her, Abby was almost knocked over, but Ziva helped steady her. Okay, Ziva was a solid being. This was a good thing. But that didn't do overly much to quell the emotions swirling within her from the nightmare she'd had, from the explosion both her and Ziva had been in before arriving here again.
At Ziva's question, Abby floundered for a response, if only because about one thousand responses came to her mind all at once. It wasn't easy for her to pick one out of that to say, so first and foremost, she decided to hug Ziva because hugs were good. Yes, Abby had all ready hugged Ziva practically to death, but the contact did reinforce that Ziva was alive. The hug also calmed her enough to where she could actually respond to the question. So after a few moments of practically clinging to the poor Israeli woman who was, for all intensive purposes, sort of being an Israeli teddy bear of late, Abby let go, biting her lower lip out of anxiety.
"I had another nightmare." It was a plain statement, but Abby was fairly certain Ziva had picked up on the fact she had nightmares, so she didn't bother to hide it. And, well, Abby wasn't the type to lie. Babble incessantly and avoid certain topics for as long as possible, yes, but lie? No. Abby was too much of an honest person, and she wore her emotions on her sleeve. If she even tried to lie, everyone, even a blind person, would be able to tell. There was a worried expression on her face and she shifted her weight back and forth on her feet out of anxiety. She didn't really know how to approach this subject, and she thought Ziva had her own issues with it, so hopefully they could find some type of common ground. Confronting these things was not something Abby was good at, but she trusted Ziva and she would confide in her. Gibbs wasn't here, and Jenny and Tony weren't from the time they were. All they had was each other.
