Who: Robin and Marian
What: Being adorable Worrying over hellhound mauled husbands
When: Some time Tuesday
Where: Complex medbay
Warnings: Painmed!Robin probably deserves a warning of his own. Also, he's a hellhound victim. You don't think describing those wounds is pretty, do you?
Marian loved being married. Where some women of her station had been all but forced into marriage, she'd chosen hers more than willingly. The second time around, anyway. And her first betrothal hadn't been met with many protests, either. As an idealistic child, she'd fallen head over heels for the mischievous, teasing young lord of Locksley. As a grown woman facing the world during a war, she'd realized how foolish she'd been as a girl and was now more in love with him than ever.
So of course she'd worried about him when he'd chosen to go off alone. She'd only gone to the first floor to help with the fighting, and why shouldn't she? And then he'd admitted he'd gone off by himself and he'd not returned after several hours and that? Wasn't okay with her. And she'd done the first thing she could think of, the one thing he'd probably hate but she had no way around it. She turned to Guy. A strong fighter who she knew would still be there for her if she needed him. And with Robin in potential danger, she needed him.
Besides. She'd be just plain stupid to go off on her own looking after lecturing him for doing the same.
He wasn't in the best shape when they'd found him. In fact, she'd felt her heart sink, terrified at first that she'd lost him. Even now, she wasn't entirely sure he wasn't just going to up and leave her. He looked terrible. The hellhound who'd chosen him as his new chew toy hadn't been fooling around, though fortunately, Robin had kept his head together enough to fight it off. His arm, however, looked nearly well chewed through, and that was only the worst of his injuries. Even the more minor ones frightened her. Not that she hadn't seen her share of injuries. Or even had her share of them. But knowing that these particular ones could cost her the happiness she'd finally found made her that much more scared.
Though the medbay was crowded and full of technology she still didn't entirely understand, she refused to leave his side. She'd left food and water for the dog and kept it in the kitchen for easy cleanup. Because right then, Robin was her only concern. Until she could convince herself that he was going to be okay, she wasn't going to leave him. The doctors had given him a great deal of pain medication, something she was grateful for. In their time, herbal remedies wouldn't have been nearly enough, or as was the case with many of the residents, alcohol. However, it made him tired, and she was worried every time he fell into the deep sleep his body needed for recovery.
Curled in a chair by his bedside, she thumbed through a book, not retaining a word she'd read and knowing she'd just have to do so again later.
