Peter walked beside her, his eyes still locked on her, afraid she’d disappear again if he looked away. Hell, as fickle as the Seal was, it could really happen, and he’d have lost her before he could even take this second chance he’d been given. “Possession, meaning, a demon from hell takes over your body and uses it as a tool to wreak havoc on everyone around you,” he said flatly, not mincing words. “And not everyone survives it. So, let’s avoid that, yeah?”

He pushed open the door and they headed down the steps to the sidewalk, and he took her hand again as he started to lead the way back to the complex. “Demons aren’t the only nasty things around here though. Got to be careful.” This time as he moved through the city, he kept a watchful eye out. Jerry may have been in hiding for over a month now, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t out there, and the last thing he needed was to get caught off-guard. Still, he found himself watching her more than the surrounding streets.
