Rose was really, really glad she had Juliet. Her friend wasn't just a good friend, but an expert shopper. It reminded her of Anna, the very first person to come into her life in Lawrence. Well. In person, anyway. She'd been the one to tell her that it was okay to enjoy just living. That maybe the fight to the end of the Apocalypse didn't always have to be battles and exorcisms and Seal-related insanity. Sometimes it could just be coffee and shopping with friends and falling in love and going to parties and having fun. Being human, Lucifer's least favorite thing. And just then, that's what she wanted.
She felt guilty about turning down Sam's offer to go along on the hunt. Or not choosing to ask for another. But she was still angry with this world. It was fading over time, but now and again something happened to remind her just how badly life could hurt. And she just wasn't ready to fight for a Seal who couldn't be bothered to fight for her. So she worked herself to the bone, hung out with her friends, took care of not!her dog, and went shopping.
Before she knew it, they were in the shoes, because clearly, Jules needed an intervention. Rose was typically content in a pair of trainers but maybe it wouldn't hurt to dress up now and again. If she was really going to make an effort at moving on, it might be nice to be noticed once in a while. "What about these?" she asked, holding up the pumps and on instinct, checking the price. Thanks to her Bauble, it wasn't actually something she had to worry about, but once an Estate girl, always an Estate girl.
