Really, Helena didn't understand what was happening and why it was happening. If some Power That Be decided this would funny, that power had another thing coming. Or if Helena was legitimately going insane in the whole hallucinating dead daughters vein, as opposed to destroying the world kind of insane, then she really didn't want any part of this. She'd rather be on the Janus Coin again or dead.
When Claudia knelt next to her, Helena looked at her, dark eyes gleaming with tears she was trying so desperately hard not to shed. "Then I must be losing my mind." Because that really was the only logical explanation. She was just forgetting that logic didn't exactly exist in this place all the time. Sometimes illogical things happened because of the Seal and its capabilities.
"You are not losing your mind, mummy. I was brought here for you." The eight year old didn't exactly understand the details, but she did know she needed to help her mother. She knew she was dead, and she could clearly see her mother's grief. Christina went over to her mother and knelt on the other side of her, resting her hand over Helena's. The touch caused Helena to jump slightly, looking down at her hand. She then looked at Christina, completely perplexed.
"Claudia, can hallucinations touch people?" Her gaze was still on Christina, but she directed the question to Claudia. She was trying to wrap her mind around what was going on here. She just wanted to ensure whether she was hallucinating or not before she started to talk more to Christina. No doubt Claudia would think she was actually insane if she started talking to what Claudia viewed a nothing but air.
