The whole alternate dimension thing was still kind of mind-boggling and that wasn't even getting into the Devil being real and demons hanging out, possessing people. The End is Nigh? Suddenly, the whackos who held street signs and got in her face, telling her to repent weren't looking so crazy. Also, she was apparently just a character on a television show here. Which was weird. So freaking weird. But whatever. Penny liked to think of herself as adaptable. She was tough. And...willing to think outside the box a lot little outside the box when it came right down to it. Okay, not really so much usually except to humor the guys when they got going but this was different. This was a whole bunch of people with the same story and even Sheldon could embrace the parallel world part.
So, she sort of accepted it. Tentatively.
Her embracing the cray was probably helped a lot by the cool people she'd met. Did she mention superheroes were also here, too? Pretend here like she was, but um. Hello. First day here and she met Oliver Queen. Smoking hot and willing to put his (very nice) butt on the line to save people? Yeahhh, consider Penny officially on board with the whole wacky scenario. The fact that he also happened to be really sweet and make her laugh were the icing on the cake.
Which was why she oh-so-casually suggested they hang out sometime and agreed on the spot when he suggested lunch. Spending an hour or two - if she was being optimistic - getting to know him in person as opposed to online? Not something Penny was going to pass up on. Thank God for the Wal-Mart gift card because the first thing she did this morning was buy new clothes. A big thanks to God for bringing Sheldon over, too, because he was smart enough to buy food for the apartment with his. She may have had to try on half the department, but it was worth it.
Granted, she was still a little uncertain about Oliver's wrist and whether or not he should be up and about instead of resting, but Penny figured he would have told her if he wasn't feeling up to it. She'd given him an out last night and he'd gotten back to her this morning to confirm. So. Yeah. She spent the last of her cash on the taxi over and she'd have to walk home, but she was flying a little high with an extra pep in her step as she walked into Little China.
Not seeing a hostess and not sure if Oliver was there yet, Penny craned her neck and swept the parts of the restaurant that she could see from the front, eyes seeking out her date.
