Who: Sheldon Cooper What: His arrival to Lawrence When: Sunday evening Where: Outside the library Warnings: None Status: Narrative. Complete.
When Sheldon found himself outside the Lawrence, Kansas Public Library, with no memory of how he'd gotten there, he assumed that he had either gained super powers like the Flash, and had moved so quickly he hadn't had time to realize what he was doing until he stopped. Either that, or he had somehow invented a method of teleportation in his sleep. Which was entirely possible, of course. Even in his sleep, he was a genius.
"Fascinating," he said aloud, looking at the building for a long moment, then glancing around. He beamed involuntarily, wondering whether he should attempt super-speeding back home, or if he should simply find the nearest pay phone and call Leonard to ask if his device was back in the apartment. Because if it was the latter, someone was going to have to come and pick him up. He looked at his watch. It was a little after three a.m. Unless he'd been sleepwalking, he must have teleported.
He was going to have to call Leonard. He could hardly wait to tell his best friend the good news. After all, Leonard was a scientist, too, and he would appreciate being the first to know of Sheldon's amazing accomplishment. He walked down the sidewalk, almost happy enough to whistle a tune. But happiness was no excuse to do something as annoying as whistling. So he simply strode down the road, keeping his eyes peeled for a public phone, or even an all night diner where he could use the phone. After all, Lawrence wasn't a huge city, and he was sure the people here were friendly enough to let him use the phone.
