Angel's arrival to Lawrence

He would build a new life for himself, as far away from Buffy as possible.
The battle was not an easy one, but it was over, the demon that was formerly the Mayor of Sunnydale was gone and all that was left of the high school was simmering debris. Fire trucks and ambulances had arrived on the scene and students, parents, and faculty alike were being checked out by the medical team on site, accounts of events being taken. There were swarms of people separating them, but Angel saw her through the crowd. And then her eyes were on him as well.
As much as he wanted to stay, to go to her, there were about a thousand reasons for him not to. Unfortunately, those reasons and their logic in his mind outweighed the want to stay. The moment was over as soon as it had begun and he turned to walk away. He was heading for L.A., where he would build a new life for himself, as far away from Buffy as possible.
However, the universe had other plans for him and the next thing he knew, he was in a very different setting. Angel was not foreign to the concept of alternate dimensions and universes, and Sunnydale tended to be full of things of this nature, but this was new, even on him. He knew the first thing he needed to do was get his bearings, so he set out to do just that, roaming the streets until he could find some information.
