Prim should have thought about Peeta in this situation. She probably never would have done what she had done to Katniss. She would have answered. It really wasn't fair to him that she had done this. She was realizing that now that she wasn't in the moment. She didn't have as many thoughts swirling around her head. She could see that Peeta was definitely bothered by what she had done and she couldn't blame him. He really loved Katniss and the two of them were almost tag teaming on taking care of her. Katniss had probably emphasized how important Prim was to keep safe while she was gone too. Even though Prim wasn't incapable of taking care of herself. Everyone viewed her as a little girl most of the time, though she had told Katniss she wasn't as little as she seemed. She didn't fight people about how they viewed her, it made it easier sometimes. She didn't have to be serious with people most of the time. She also didn't have to talk about difficult things at times either. It wasn't so helpful right now, though.
"I really am." Prim stated, her voice almost a whisper as she looked down at her feet. She did deserve whatever lecture Peeta had in store for her, to be honest. Prim listened to him say that he would have been fine with her being alone. All she could really do was nod that he was right. She should have said something rather than to have just been as silent as she had been. "I didn't go home before I came here. This is the way I walk to the complex." Prim admitted quietly. "I just sort of stopped on my way and never managed to make myself get up and go on to the complex." She admitted. "I promise that I won't do that again." Prim told Peeta, definitely not wanting to ever put him in that place ever again.
The younger girl was surprised when Peeta admitted that he hadn't called her sister. She could understand why he hadn't called her, though. She was actually glad that he hadn't too. She didn't want him to get in trouble or to worry Katniss that way. "I'm glad you didn't call her, but it's really not your fault. I'd make sure she knew that. I know better than to worry you look that. I just didn't think." She knew that she had done something wrong and Prim wasn't even going to pretend that she didn't. "Could we ask them not to tell Katniss, I don't want her to know." Maybe she was protecting herself from getting in trouble, but at the moment she felt like she really didn't want Katniss to be angry at Peeta.
Prim wasn't sure how to answer his question. Most of the time she just preferred to be honest, but did he really need to hear that she wasn't all right? "No, I'm not." Prim answered, impulse guiding her to follow her usual inclination of the truth. "Last night with Clark and Kon....and the reactions... it bothers me. And I've been thinking about other things too." Prim admitted, giving him more than he'd really asked for, but unable to help it.
