When Merlin said the word Fae, Elphaba was momentarily caught off-guard, though she didn't show it outwardly. Fiyero had called her Fae. But she had long since moved on from her feelings for Fiyero, so she didn't dwell on it. Instead, she focused on the rest of what Merlin had said.
