It's a Wizards world, we just live in it!
Characters: Merlin and Elphaba
When: This evening, starting before the Z-spell activates
Location: Her place, the streets, a cafe, and---?
Warnings/Rating: Unknown!
Summary: Merlin sets out to learn more about a fellow magic user, and things take an odd turn.
Status: Closed and ongoing

Merlin flew across the city, humming internally as he banked around toward Elphaba's place. He liked this odd little woman, and she made him smile. She was new and her magic sounded intriguing. So many intriguing people in this city!

Merlin dove as he felt the wind swirl through and past his feathers, using powerful wings to bank around again and enjoying himself as he did so. He thought truly that it might be fun to have this meeting of the minds with other magic users, and to learn of their magics, and of the wielders themselves, and how their worlds related to the magics.

Merlin slid down to the door of the address he had been given and on a lark, he used magic to knock of the door, hovering before it, still in owl form.

Upon receiving Merlin's last comment, Elphaba immediately went to her closet and looked at what she had to wear. "I fully blame this current need for changing clothes on Galinda," she muttered under her breath. Elphaba didn't exactly have a wide variety of clothes, but she still felt like she should change out of what she'd been wearing around the house the entire day. Elphaba settled on a long-sleeved midnight blue blouse and an ankle length skirt. She still didn't exactly wear pants very often, and she still covered herself from neck to ankle even when she used the charm spell to change her skin color.

Elphaba still wasn't comfortable in her own skin to show it off, but she didn't exactly care if people would think she was a prude. Let them think it, she wouldn't care. Well all right, that was a lie, she would care. No matter what she'd say, Elphaba always cared about what other people thought. So once she'd changed her clothes, she brushed out her hair, pulling part of it back to keep it out of her face but allowing the rest to trail down her back freely. That was when she cast the spell and looked at her reflection. She didn't bother with make-up and just went downstairs.

When she heard the knock, she went to the door and answered it, obviously expecting to see a person there. But when she saw the owl, she blinked and tilted her head a bit. She wasn't afraid, not even shocked, but there was surprise, but also intrigue.

"Merlin?" She had a feeling it was him, but she felt the question needed to be asked.

	Merlin in the owl form, bowed it's beak, hooted, then flared it's wings and with that flaring, shimmered and before her eyes flowed to the full-sized Merlin, eyes wide and warm. He gave her a bow, eyes twinkling. "My dear lady! It is my pleasure to meet you, face to face, as it were." He thought she looked pretty, but less so than her true form. As the owl shifted back into its human form, Elphaba watched with interest. She'd never seen a transformation spell quite like that before. She'd transformed a man of flesh and blood into one made of tin with a spell, but never had shape-changed someone the way Merlin just had. As such, she was intrigued and wondered if she could learn a similar spell. No doubt such a spell had its uses, and Elphaba liked being prepared for anything with non-hazardous spells. When he bowed to her, Elphaba gave him a little curtsey.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Merlin," she greeted. "I hope it wasn't too difficult to find my house?" It wasn't strange to her to call it her house anymore. Originally, it had been Jack Skellington's and he'd let her stay there with him. When he'd been sent back to his world, she'd made it her home. Having roommates helped keep her from feeling lonely as it was a sizable house. "I'm ready to go if you are," she said. So far, so good. No signs of the awkward babbling that she was sometimes prone to when she was nervous or flustered.

	"Nay. Your directions were most clear." Her words had led him as straight as an arrow. Merlin snapped his fingers, and a flower appeared as he held it out to her. "I am ready, milady." Merlin smiled softly to her and extended his arm to her. "Let us walk, and view the world tonight." He bounced on his toes. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
