"No, there isn't. More people should engage their minds in such a way." At the comment of her being so young, she chuckled a bit. "I'm not all that young. Well I am, but I'm practically at the doorstep of 30. But thank you for the compliment," she said. The thank you was almost an afterthought as she still wasn't used to such compliments.
"That is understandable. It's just as close as normal people in this world can get to magic. They have to create it artificially because they don't have the gift with which to use real magic. But I'm sure the longer you are here, the more familiar with and trusting of it you will become. The internet has quite the vast stores of knowledge on more subjects than you could possibly name."
Elphaba read on, not exactly aware that Merlin was guiding her and keeping her from walking into something that could hurt her. She was, however, appreciative of that because she really wasn't observant when she had her nose in a book. And considering this was a book that contained theory of magic from where Merlin was from? That was an entirely fascinating topic. But after a few minutes, she looked up at him.
"How prevalent is magic in your world? Have you met others with magic?" She suddenly found herself curious on the matter and wondered just how similar his world and hers were. Of course, she didn't think everyone in his world had magic, it seemed that across all the realities represented by those displaced by the Seal some were born with the gift of magic and some weren't. Which did make sense.
