Gaia had her own cruelty. That was when she wasn't ill and in withdrawal. She was no warrior, her wars were waged on a completely mental level. One might think she'd learned her cunning ways from having been a Senator's wife, but the fact of the matter was that she'd held them from long before she'd ever met her late husband. Gaia had learned young that playing games and playing into what others wanted would get you further than if you simply went charging ahead and being brash on attaining what you wanted. The Roman woman's mind was one filled with completely and unadulterated cunning, and she really didn't care who she had to manipulate to get the most favorable outcome for herself.
"I did it because I enjoyed the lying, the trickery. It is far too easy to make someone believe something when you become what it is they want to see." There was a bit of a faint smirk on Gaia's lips. "The wishing of death upon her came from the fact she seems to be one of those people who does good for the sake of trying to make themselves appear to be better than they actually are. For the portion where I convinced that guard dog I was her friend and seeing the look on her face, that was enjoyable."
Perhaps Gaia shouldn't have given as much away about how she operated, but at least with that bit of information, Livia would understand how she was going to keep Hercules distracted. And really, it wasn't hard to keep a man distracted. The Roman had managed to hook Hercules again after having broken his trust in order to carry out what Moriarty wanted of her.
And the upper class Roman well knew not to cross Livia. Gaia liked living without pain, and she knew Livia held the leverage right now. So Gaia would be complacent even though her craving for the drug currently hanging from a chain around the other Roman's neck was taking her strongly. Even as her hands worked the tension out, her dark eyes kept drifting the chain, desire for the opium getting stronger with each passing moment. But she had to control herself, and she would. Gaia just simply hoped she didn't have another seizure during this, especially in the bath. Drowning was certainly not on the list of things she wanted to do.
[OOC: And repost because I somehow let a Romana instead of Roman slip in once. DAMN IT BRIEGE.]
