It had been a long time since Morgana had felt this sort of calm. Even though Camelot was now her home, had been her home since Gorlois had died, she never truly felt calm there. With the nightmares and Uther's tyranny when he felt he was in the right, the fact that she knew she was just there because of a promise and more and more recently, Uther had shown his true hand, the fact that he could easily take his favor from her and she would have to fend for herself, it was impossible to ever be truly calm. She had her connections. She trusted and loved both Arthur and Gwen. Trusted Merlin and Gaius. But more and more, she was isolated. Gaius assuring her that her nightmares were just dreams, that there was no magic. Even Merlin wouldn't verify what she had thought at first. Until he sent her to the druids. She had thought it was insanity, but wasn't she already going insane? If she could get answers, or at least an idea....
The fact that Mordred was there, it was comforting. And the fact that he had wanted to help her just as she had helped him. How could Uther have thought this child evil? Just because of what he was born with? It made no sense. He was so filled with hatred and even with his promise to be better, he was still a tyrant. He still saw enemies in everything. Yet Aglain said that it was his sorrow and that Uther should be pitied. She wanted to learn that calm, to control her abilities. She didn't care that it would take years. If she had answers and support, it was possible. Maybe she didn't have to be evil like Uther led her to believe would be the case if there was magic involved.
Hope. It was something she hadn't felt in years. That hope, that calm, it allowed her to fall asleep as Aglain and Mordred spoke, the medicine for the leg wound aiding the sleep process. Only, there was fire. A man laughing and destruction around her. There were dead bodies all around. She didn't recognize any of them. The clothing style was strange. But given all the blood, she was more distracted. She felt pain. It was radiating throughout her entire body. She couldn't breathe. It felt like she was choking.
Bolting upright with a terrified scream, Morgana looked around, terrified. She was alone. But she wasn't in the Druid camp. And she wasn't back in Camelot. Where was she? And why did a feeling of dread wash over her? Hearing a voice, she looked and felt her eyes widen. The clothing was just like her dream. Clothing she didn't know.... What was going on. Had she gone to the Druid camp? But even if she hadn't, this didn't explain the change of scenery from Camelot. To being outside.
