Galen honestly didn't know what he would be if not for Mara. She was like a rock in his life, a place where he could get the balance he needed before continuing on his journey. He nodded as she said that the specifics of what kind of man he could become would present themselves later. But he agreed whole heartedly that moving past what Vader wanted him to be was a huge step in the right direction.
Hearing that Mara had Jedi and Force user blood on her hands, he studied her. "How long did it take you to make peace with that fact?" he asked, clearly curious. He knew full well that it would be a different time frame for him but still. Where was the harm in learning more about his friend and teacher? And Mara was right. Having a choice in what he could be was helping immensely. Choices meant different paths he could take after all.
When she encouraged him to be Gaia's champion if that was what he wanted, he looked at her and gave a nod. "I think for now I'll wait. If that's what kind of man I want to be, then so be it." He knew Mara would probably watch his interactions with Gaia from time to time but really, Gaia wouldn't hurt him. At least as far as he knew she wouldn't.
