Mara was having a mostly enjoyable evening. River had been more stable lately, which was refreshing. She still really wished she could do more to help the girl, but she was hoping that simply being a mother, being there to help and comfort and be a grounding presence for River would be good enough for her. The Jedi Master didn't know much about River's history, but she had pieced together that she had been experimented on after what she'd been through the Master. She would be there for River whenever she needed her. And Mara knew Luke was there to help as well. It was refreshing to be with her husband again, even if he was far older than when she'd last seen him. But the fact of the matter was that he was still the man she loved. She needed him, especially after the things she'd experienced in this world.
The Jedi was stretched out on the couch watching something on the Discovery channel. Television was an interesting thing. She rather liked the channels with science and history programs. And she also liked some of the comedies as well. And it was while she was relaxing that she felt something in the Force, something that she didn't like. Sitting upright with a look on her face that was somewhere between confused and dislike, Mara tried to discern who it was coming from. Her initial thought was Jacen because, well, their history. But upon closer inspection, she found it to be coming from Galen. It was difficult to detect as he was doing his best to mask it, but Mara knew where to look. And how to look. Telling Luke she had a feeling Galen needed someone and for him to keep an eye on River, she stood up, grabbing her lightsaber and shoto just in case she needed them. Giving Luke a kiss, she headed out.
The Jedi tracked Galen through the Force, determined to stop whatever it was that was making him angry. She wasn't going to let him fall like this, not now. Galen had been making good progress on rising from having been a Sith Apprentice. She wasn't actively pushing him to become a Jedi, but she wanted him to take a better path in life, and she knew he was capable of it. So she wasn't going to just let him slip up now. So she searched him out and hoped to whoever was listening that he would listen to her. She'd rather not beat sense into him if it came to that. But at least if it came to fighting with him, she did still have the upper hand. She was older and more experienced in the Force than he was. But also with her upbringing as an assassin, she had quick reflexes. She had ways of disarming him if she had to.
Finally, Mara found Galen. He most certainly looked like a man on a mission. And Mara didn't exactly like it. So she took a breath.
"Galen!" She called, trying to get his attention. She left her lightsaber and shoto clipped to either hip, not wanting to give him a reason to attack her. No, she was going to try the talking first.
