He chuckled and grinning at her. "I believe you are right. One thing you can always count on me for, is these scientific endeavors." He nodded to her, feeling somewhat, well, bouncy. There was something hopeful about sharing all of this. His worries could wait, at least for a little while.
That much, he could do.
"There is time enough, to try new things, I think, and pursue old ones. And to dream, perhaps, of making a difference." He had found one moment to make one here, and if nothing else happened, that would be enough for him. He remembered the shot, ringing out and the sight of her going over, Myka flinging her down as he hurled the teleport device at them...and them vanishing in a flash of light, safe... and then everything went green. The rest was lost to him, but that moment was indelibly etched in his mind. It meant everything. It meant, for once, he was not a complete failure.
