Elphaba chuckled slightly at his comment about this place giving his world a run for it's money. "That is not even the half of it, let me tell you. Though I have to say we have not had an interdimensional or interplanetary invasion in my experience here. But anything and everything can be brought here because of the Seal. Sometimes it can send us to alternate universes of the one we come from. And that is all on top of the Apocalypse." Which, really, made fighting that much more difficult because they had more than one evil to contend with sometimes. But Elphaba had grown used to it in the year and a half she'd been here.
At his question of a central place, Elphaba nodded. "Yes, there's a complex a lot of people stay in. It is free and is for those like us. Though some, like myself, live in our own places. I have a house I live in with a friend. As for getting a lab, I wouldn't know how to get that. There are some who have jobs within law enforcement, so they might perhaps be able to help you get a lab? Or at the very least they would be able to point you in the right direction." Elphaba hadn't exactly paid attention to those sorts of things in this place because she never really needed to.
At least she wasn't the only one to forget to introduce herself." It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Bruce. I just tend to be awkward around people in general. I'm getting a bit better about it, though. People never really were my thing. Books and animals were." But being here in Lawrence had started to change that. She'd made friends, started letting herself open up to people. Granted most of those people were gone now, but she still had Elena, and she knew Elena and Galinda would want her to make friends, to not close herself off. So that was one reason she was going to be helpful to Bruce as much as she could be.
