One moment, he was in the lab, and the next, well, there he was. He was standing in the middle of a field, staring at a plant where his lab counter had once been. Shock swept over him, and his pulse began to pound, and Bruce stumbled backward, nearly jumping in surprise. Typically, he fell on his ass, then. Since he had joined the Avengers, he had seen a lot of things, but this was... uhm... what was this, anyway? Long distance teleportation? But why to a field? And a field located in... somewhere? Bruce glanced around, confused, seeing cars pass, and people going about their business, and none of them looking at the man dressed in a lab coat who had just fallen on his butt in a field in the middle of their midst. His puzzlement ad sheer curiosity were so far, winning the war against his stress level and heart beat, which were both calling for the Other Guy to come out now. He glanced around for somewhere better, but seeing nothing and being ignored anyway, he sat down in the field and closed his eyes. With slow deep breaths, he pushed himself down into meditation, letting the surroundings fade away, and his mind fill with peace. The peace of anger. His mind, his heart, and his soul, seethed with rage. Rage ay all the things that plagued him. Rage at how many people sought to use him. Rage at all the things that happened to him against his will. Unending, uncomplicated, and unstoppable rage. The stress and the peace fought, and it was not a short battle, but eventually, the peace won. With a deep breath, deeper than the others, he rose and dusted himself off, then started walking, looking for answers, and for some sort of clue as to what was going on. |
