She was open. Oh he didn't miss the little nuance of wording at all. He just bet she was. Little ancient world junkie tossed into a modern one she couldn't begin to understand. Though some things never ever changed and Gaia was a clever enough woman for all of that. She wouldn't have come here if she wasn't. Not without trying other ways to get around him first. But there was a debt here and the Roman knew that it would have to be paid one day. He would want something out of her. Something he hadn't quite worked out yet. But the drugs and the occasional flirty comment or touch of her skin and he'd have her. Irene Adler may have had the market on seduction but Jim was no stranger to the art. One only had to ask the little mouse.
"I have what you want. In ample supply." he told her, reaching into his pocket for some cocaine he'd found for her. Never touch the stuff himself of course. Or any drugs for that matter. Dulled the senses, made you weak and vulnerable, made you stupid. And he had no wish to be anything of the sort. But those around him. Oh when they indulged it was beautiful to watch. The layers fell away one by one until all that remained was the truth. The core of the person they always tried to hide and he loved to watch them fall. Sometimes they thought he fell with them. So drugged up in their haze they assumed. But Jim Moriarty was always three steps ahead at the very least and they were always just one more string in his web.
He laid out a line of the white powder for her on the beautiful marble table beside them. For a seedy drug den, they really did know who it was they tended to cater for.
"Try it out. The Opium you will be provided of course. It is your drug of choice but I do like to get to know those I take a personal interest in. Their preferences, their hopes, goals. What is it you want Gaia and I can provide it. I mean I'll want something back in return at some point but that goes without saying, you're a smart woman. You tell me what you won't do. What price is too much to pay and I'll figure out just how much I'm willing to give within those limits. Its a fairer deal than you'll get anywhere else."
Sad fact of course was, that it was the best deal she'd get, and she'd know it if she was as smart as she looked.
He sat the far side of her, watching, waiting for that moment when the addiction took hold, It was always just so fascinating to watch the careful composure begin to fall away to nothing.
