He was smiling. That was a good thing, right? He was okay with that. This wasn't as bad as it could be. And at least the seething anger that Chris usually felt around his father had been tampered a bit. His dad had fought for him back home. Had faced Gideon, had saved Wyatt, and had been the last at his bedside before he'd...well, wound up here. But Chris wasn't stupid. He'd known what was about to happen.
Besides, his dad had sprung him from jail. That was pretty big.
"Uh, no. No, I've got it. Don't worry." He really should have looked into getting a real job, but he'd picked up a few odd jobs here and there and could certainly handle a cup of coffee.
