"Oh, I'm sorry. Broken souls? I can't even fathom doing something like that, even as a Source. So it's not like a whole different race, but.. humans first. Who were changed." Cole had a look of concern on his face, hearing about how these demons here were made. Once human. Twisted in the land below, in Hell, humanity taken from them. It was a horrible thought. To have any human become something dark and monstrous. He had something close to that. But while his humanity was never corrupted or taken, mostly just.. repressed under everything else. But Ruby seemed to be proof for hope. She was good now, right? Of course. So that at least was good. To see that someone who would normally be dark and yet using what they know to help people for good reasons. Probably also seen as a traitor. Now that, he could relate to. He was marked for death and so many demonic bounty hunters had continuously searched for him. "And the bodies you have now are just human hosts? I guess a vanquish is definitely out of the question, then." That would make things a challenge. It was easier in his world. Just toss an angry fireball or globe of electrical energy, and poof. Scorch mark. For the lesser demons and those of his rank anyway, the others took more than one.
But in this place? There was probably other ways to get the demons out and away from hurting everyone else again. He'd have to learn all that soon enough. He paused at the question about his father. His memory was extremely faint of him, only a glimpse here and there.. mostly nonexistent. "I don't really remember much. I think I was around two or three when he learned of my mother. Then she killed him and took me with her. But afterward, his soul was held in this crystal sphere. The Source used it as a bargaining chip. He kept it, using it if I ever decided to give in to my human side. When given my task to kill the sisters, the soul was promised to me. But when I failed to kill them.. failing, in this case, meaning I fell in love and just refused, the soul was given to my boss Raynor so he could use it in his own schemes to control me. When a witch died due to his influence and an evil spell, he gave it.. and I ended him. As to my father.. I just set him free. It was the right and only thing for me to do."
He was curious about the powers side of things as well. And they seemed to be a dog eat dog type mentality as his could be, in this case dog being demons. And now she was asking about abilities. "Okay, I can do that. I assume you saw one already. How I got here. Shimmering, my teleport method. Could practically go anywhere in the world. I can also conjure or summon a knife to my hand. Athame, technically. There's spell casting as well. Also.. for offensive powers. I can create fireballs in my hand. Usually the size of a fist but I can enlarge it. But the power I usually use is basic for most demons. Energy balls. Like.. this." He set his glass down and took a step back. After focusing, an energy ball appeared in his hand. It was there, half the size of a fist and lightly crackling with energy. Then he made a fist to extinguish it. "Those can kill, leaving a scorch mark.. or low voltage like the one I just made, to just knock someone out. Depends on the intentions at the time. Oh, and there's also transformation. I can morph into my demon persona Belthazor. But I'd maybe wait on ever showing that, he's kind of.. large. And red all over, with dark tribal marks. I don't like to become him for too long a time or the demon side will want to take over. So it's best to just keep that side under and only use the powers I get from his side and nothing else."
