"Great, orange is good," he said with a nod as he felt a little more comfortable. Not completely yet, but it was a start. He listened as he mentioned the Halliwells. Would they still hate him anyway, despite being not evil? Good question. He had a feeling that they might be a little bit disappointed, since that'd mean no vanquishing, and that he had told the truth ever since the start of his arrival. "Maybe it's personal, I don't know. I just don't get the hate. Especially since if they know I'm from before all that madness, they have little right to be against me. Though they may anyway, regardless. But.. well, it's enough on this side of it, just so they know I'm passing the testing." He laughed when she mentioned needing a lawyer, curious if it were serious or at least partially in jest. Cole had paused, then followed her as she traveled to the kitchen. He was a little curious if he had sort of passed other tests without knowing it. He'd go through any of them, whether he knew of them or not.
"Okay.. a story, I can do that. He stood in the doorway of the kitchen, observing as she did things. "My father was a statesman. Mother was a full demon. I was born in 1885; let's just say our kind ages slowly physically if not at all. After she killed my dad, she raised me in the Underworld. I was raised to hate my human half. And I did, for so long. Oh, I should mention. Full demons? Don't trust them. They've all been evil and destructive, amoral, dark. Unless they never killed ever, making it a special case. But on the whole, evil. It's us half ones that have a chance. The full-on demons don't have emotions. Not the good kind, no love.. closest is lust, at best. Being happy, mostly only when doing evil things, and anger at failing. So.. half demons like me, we could go evil, most do. But there's also a chance we can reject the bad stuff. But they like us because we can get a foot hold in the mortal world, with business and politics. They had put me through law school. Turns out I excelled at it, and had eventually worked as an Assistant D.A."
Cole stopped when he saw the glass of juice, nodding in thanks as he took a drink from it when offered. "There's a hierarchy down there too. Ranks, levels, chains of command, etc. The Source is at the top, below that is the Triad, and then more superiors, all the way down to the scumbags. And.. warlocks, which is a different race altogether, like evil witches, but they're considered second class citizens. And for demons, while there is a sense of order? Also chaos. It's instinct to outdo another, to get to the top by elimination. In this case it can be literal." He stopped then, not wanting to overload Ruby with too much information to process. Not that he wouldn't go on. If she wanted more, but Cole thought he'd wait to hear her feedback on what he had relayed so far. He wondered if the demons here were anything like what he knew of in his universe. He took another sip of his juice and added, "Is it like that for your kind? I've been wondering if the abilities are the same too. Ours also has certain abilities, depending on rank. Or you buy them.. we have brokers who sell powers if you have something to wager for it. Very secret. "
