Who:Nightwing and Robin
What:First patrol since the injury and talking possibly-or hitting of things
When:Tonight!
Where:random rooftop
Warning:TBA potential violence?
It was a cool night in Kansas. There were stars in the sky and moonlight bounced off buildings Nightwing swung from to reach his rondevu point with Damian. Swinging by rope hurt, he knew he wouldn't be able to patrol that way for long. It was a very good thing he'd decided to keep patrol relatively close to the complex for his own sanity. Jess had warned him to take it easy, nothing to strain his injuries that were healing rather nicely. Dick was bad at staying still, but he figured as long as he didn't tear or re-injure himself, what was the harm? He landed on a rooftop in silence and touched his side where the injury reminded him it was still there. His brows furrowed in discomfort as he waited for Damian's arrival.
That song still was still burned in his memory. He couldn't help but relate to it a little bit. The last few days had been less then spectacular between his own drama and Darcy and Clark's. He wanted to fix theirs, but he could barely fix his own. His own was gnawing at him like an anxious dog with a bone. He didn't know how to talk to Bruce anymore after everything that had happened. It felt like being a kid all over again and being told to leave the cave. It was hard enough the first time, but now twice? How could he do it twice.
He missed the golden days when he was a kid sometimes. It was true that Alfred did most of the child raising, but whenever he did get a rare moment with Bruce it was a good one. Whether it be training or talking, they had a bond. Dick missed that, it broke something inside of him that wondered if that would ever come back. Bruce was supposed to be his father, he couldn't even bring himself to call him dad. He never had been after his parents were murdered and taken from him. Bruce had brought him in but were they close enough to change their relationship that drastically? Dick wasn't sure he was able. Even now he felt like that eight year old kid whose life was forever changed in one sweeping moment that was out of his control. He didn't like it.
Crouching on the edge of a stone gargoyle ontop of the chosen banking building meeting spot, he looked out over the city. Dark hair falling into his face and his thoughts drifting dangerously off to elsewhere.
