Who: Dawn Summers and Open! Where: Random street corner When: Sunday afternoon Rating: Depends on who tags? Status: In Progress
It had been years since she'd been in Lawrence, Kansas. Much of Dawn's past few years had been spent in D.C., particularly after she had begun working at the Pentagon. At first, she never took a vacation because there was too much to do. Later, she never took one because she was too busy cleaning up after Jimmy. Jimmy, the one person she trusted with her life, since everyone else they knew had died or gone into hiding - or sent back, years ago before the end of the war.
At the moment, she stood on a street corner downtown, staring across at the window of pizza and doughnut shop she remembered frequenting when she'd lived there. It was open now, of course, and business was fairly good, but she didn't start across, not yet. She wore dark, boot-cut jeans, a light, dark blue sweater, a deep tan trench coat, and tan boots. While she didn't look armed, she had weapons on her person, and a part of her mind was ready to bring forth a spell if she needed it. It had taken a while, but eventually she had adapted some of the magic from her own world to the magic of this one, and had a good stock of defensive and offensive spells. Nothing 'evil' or dabbling in demon deals, the way Felicia had seemed to suspect, but effective all the same.
Closing her bright blue eyes, she thought for a moment, back to when she was eighteen and standing on this corner. The sounds were the same, the smell - tomatoes and sugar - was just as tantalizing. Reopening her eyes, she slipped her hands into the pocket of her coat and waited for traffic to clear so she could cross.
