There wasn't much to be said in regards to the whole organized crime thing. It left Svetlana unsettled but it was true. Unless Molokov lied about who he was, unless he found a way to get the backing of the government on his side, there really was no one he could get on his side that would allow him to do as he wished to them. Which was good in that they could maybe find a way to get rid of his backing through legal measures, but depending how deep it ran and how much they wished to draw attention, it could also work against them. Basically, it was a headache.
As Anatoly reinforced what he had said a few days before following the disaster that was Logan, Svetlana tried to smile but she just didn't have it in her to do so. There was too much going on, too many emotions and memories and even if she wanted to, she couldn't bring up her walls to protect herself with. She'd been on edge since everything happened with Logan and then the future children and now Molokov. She was at her wits end. She had wanted to believe she could handle anything, had forced herself to believe that but now she knew that wasn't the case. She felt weak and vulnerable and she hated it. Instead, the blond just squeezed Anatoly's hand to show she did hear him and felt the same. But she did feel the same and it did help on some small level for Anatoly to repeat it.
And then, Anatoly had to mention that they needed to talk about the things they had been avoiding. She knew he was right. She knew that Molokov would throw the past at them to throw them, and she knew that, despite having him living with her again, despite the ability to relax with him, the progress they had been making... she knew that there was still a part buried deep within her that was terrified that he would leave her again. That he would get bored. That someone else would come along and destroy her all over again. So she knew that Anatoly was right because Molokov would undoubtedly try to break her spirit with that... but she so didn't have the energy. Not now. But if not now, then when?
"....I know."
Her voice held a tone of resignation. They both knew they'd been avoiding and they both knew why, but apparently the Seal decided that they weren't allowed to rebuild the foundation and wanted to shove this on them. Yes, they had come out on top of other things the Seal threw at them, but this?
