========================

Alex had been going stir crazy when he hadn't found his parents yet. He seemed calm enough when talking to the family here, but inside he was trying to keep cool. It was when he was talking to his sister, and a couple hours at the movies (partly to prevent an escalating argument between her and Patrick), that made it easier to think. Damien and Prue simply weren't in Lawrence. They did take road trips as they grew up, as he recalled. He had been thinking in normal terms of how to locate them. But then Patty had inadvertently reminded him of their witchcraft skills, from their mother's side of the family. Of course! He should have thought of spells and scrying when he first got here. But the shock of being in the past had distracted him from that. Not to mention his worries about being in a time before the victory over Lucifer and the Apocalypse; it took a lot of self control not to panic. He did agree it would be easier scrying for his parents than putting messages to people on the board and then.. waiting. No, this method was the best way to do it. And Alexander was never one to be patient for too long, anyway.

So he had agreed to meet his sister in their dad's old room in the complex. It seemed very clean and tidy. That had never changed, it seemed. There was also plenty of expensive stuff. The TV and game systems were a bit outdated and old by his own standards.. but still. It was nice. Though he would be so glad when he was back in the future, in their massive house with more space. It didn't take him long to find an atlas book. He opened it to the broad view of the entire country. He had a few other books open as well to various continents. Hey, he had to think big. They could be literally anywhere. Though he had a strong feeling they were at least in America. He also found a couple new maps detailing cities of New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Vegas. Those must have been specifically picked. So chances were high that it was to be one of those four places. But first they had to go over the map of the whole country. Then they could use the scrying on the other maps to narrow it down further. So he sat on the middle of the floor, atlas books around him and opened up, all ready for when his sister would show up with the crystal. He was determined to find them with her help.

Prue was very suspicious, she wasn't about to let her and Damien walk into a trap. The little bit of bravado she heard didn't exactly sway Prue to believing Alexander's story. At least until he mentioned the thing about her mother. Even now, it was still a sore subject for her, perhaps even moreso than it was back home considering she knew what fate awaited her if she ever returned to her world. Her eyes widened as she felt her chest tighten a bit, the memory of her mother's lifeless body being put into a body bag. How could this boy know that? Was he telling the truth? Was he really her future son? And did she really have a future daughter? Or he could be psychic and was just using things against both her and Damien.

At least until he mentioned the 666 mark Damien had. All right, Prue could count on one hand how many people here knew that. But she was far more inclined to believe he was telling the truth now. But she wasn't letting her guard down just yet. She glanced over at Damien. "I have to say, he does know things only you and I really know. What do you think? Should we believe him?" While she was past the point of throwing the boy through the wall, she wasn't going to let her guard down until she found this wasn't a trap. Did she want to believe he was her son and her daughter was waiting for them in Lawrence? Of course she did. Knowing that she had future children with Damien was very reassuring to her. It told her that she had a future here, that she was happy, and that she lived here. Right now she wasn't caring if the future was a good one or a bad one, all that mattered is that she apparently would get to have the life here that she would never have in her own world.

Alex saw his mother's expression and thought maybe he had gone a little far in trying to show how he knew things about them. The look in his own eyes looked like grief for a moment, so he glanced down and spoke quietly. "Umm.. I, uhh.. sorry. I shouldn't say that.. why do I keep messing up.." He felt a little strained at the moment then. It shows in how he seemed more tense, gripping one hand to the couch as if it was a bad move to let go. He felt a hand holding his, a light squeeze. But no. It.. oh, right. Maybe that was a feeling from his body in Kansas. "Damn, going two states out was a very bad idea." He then looked at Damien. Then slowly back to Prue. "Please decide quickly. Please? I have to get back soon. I don't know how much longer I can stay." Hopefully it wouldn't make his physical self ill. "I should say. My future. The Croat virus? Never happened. Lucifer was stopped. Also? Mel and Adam have a son named Patrick. I guess the family sorta continues a tradition of naming their children after a certain alphabet letter. I got my name because it was what Mark would have named his own son, had he lived to have one. There were a few tragedies in Dad's life. But you, Mo- I mean, Prue. Being with you saved him."

---

Damien listened intently at the entire thing that was going on. He could tell that Prue really wanted to believe what they were being told. He did too. Though he noticed the young man seemed regretful at Prue reaction about her own mother, as if Alex was sorry about saying the wrong thing. It was strange, like.. he really was a son who had caused offense by going too far. But he also noticed that the boy seemed to be holding on and having a hard time of it. He was curious at the mention of Patrick, as well as Patricia. The zombie future didn't happen? Good. And everything else the teen said after that had truth to it. Especially about why he would choose to name him Alexander. No one, not even Prue, had known that. Obviously not yet, as neither Alex nor the daughter was even conceived yet. Unless last night.. well, no. He had more important things to focus upon. Plus, the kid did have their married last name, when the wedding was a couple months away.

"I think so," he said to Prue. "He does seem to know things only we know. Plus, Mel and Adam don't have any kids.. yet, you know. But using the P in your family happens a lot, from what you told me about history. We should also count the fact that.. well, look at him. He astral projected himself to us. He may have got that from you. From me.. well, anything. Maybe the affecting surroundings, the healing, or maybe even mind control or something. I don't think Patty has projection, or she would be here too." Damien then stepped closer to Prue and reached for her hand, giving a light and comforting squeeze. "I think he's real. We, yes, we should trust him. So maybe you could write up a spell to say when we get to our car, to transport us and it back in the complex parking lot?" He figured they should do it soon. Or at the least, let Alex know it was fine to return back to his physical body. It seemed to be a bit strenuous as time went by.

Of course Patty hadn't thought it would take thirty seconds to convince younger, unmarried versions of their parents to trust Alex, but as the seconds ticked by, she grew increasingly more worried. She kept hold of her brother's hand, watching his physical body. The astral projection power had always been strange for her to watch when Alex and their mom used it. She understood the basics of how it worked, but the physical toll it could take was a little out of her comprehension. She'd never seen her mother use it to this degree, so it was hard to say whether Alex was straining or not. His physical body was merely asleep. But she glanced at the clock again. A couple minutes had passed all ready.

"Come on, Alex. You're worrying me here. Hurry up and say the magic words." Not that he could hear her, but Patty felt the need to express that where no one could hear her. She had always kept her emotions close to her heart, much like Prue had done when she was younger. Finally, she couldn't stand it anymore and she gave Alex's hand a squeeze. "Hey, I know you probably can't hear me, but you should really come back soon. Soon as in now." Because he was stretching himself well beyond what she knew he was capable of doing. It was dangerous to do that for longer than a couple minutes.

------------

Prue listened to Alex, seeing the regretfulness enter his voice and body language. Now she was thinking perhaps he was telling the truth. His words about her mother hadn't exactly been crossing the line, it was just more of the fact Prue would always hate thinking of how her mother had died. It had affected her so deeply and changed the course of her entire life. It hadn't been until the year before she would die in her world that she even found what she really wanted in life. She'd finally pursued her love of photography as a career. The only thing she lacked was love, but she'd found that in this world, with Damien. And as Alex said that her being with Damien had saved him, she couldn't help but smile, looking over at Damien.

"That is true. It's hard to pick up on the P thing unless you've been around and know that history." Prue looked back at Alex, able to tell how hard it was for him to keep his astral self sustained here. "I'm seriously impressed he can project himself this far." She paused, taking a moment to consider that. When Damien took her hand, she looked back at him and nodded. "Yes, we should." Knowing the strain astral projection had, she looked back at Alex. "I'll write that spell and we'll meet you back in Lawrence in a few minutes. Are you at the complex?" Well, that would be obvious considering Patricia had scryed for them, which required things of theirs to complete. The only question was which apartment they should go to when they got there. All ready, Prue was starting to think of a spell that would teleport them back there. No need to bother Mel for this. There was no telling if her niece had gotten caught with someone from the future.
