"It is a war of sorts, just not the kind fought on battlefields with armies." Or in cities with an invading army, but that was beside the point. "Just try to be prepared for anything. There isn't just fighting that happens. Take a few months back, some of us were thrusted into an alternate reality of the one we were from." Isabela grew thoughtful for a moment remembering the alternate Thedas she'd found herself in. How different she'd been there. She'd been honorable, a word that she never would use to describe herself as she currently was.
"Gold? Ha, good for you. I didn't have any. Well, I had a priceless relic on me when I arrived, but it's pretty worthless in this world." She quickly focused herself on the statement of learning customs to forget about the Qunari book that was still sitting in her room and the memories of what she'd left behind her. "You aren't the only one. It's definitely a strange place. But if you go out and people-watch in a park or something, you get the hang of it quite quickly."
Oh the sea, one of Isabela's favorite topics and it showed in the way her eyes started to sparkle. "I have. I'm a pirate. Or rather I was in my world. Was a captain until my ship ran aground while escaping from a ship full of unhappy Qunari. Most of my men died. Poor sods." There was a bit of a sad undertone, but four years after the fact, she'd gotten a little better about that fact. Though she still missed them all. "Have you ever been on a ship?"
