"Well, if you really want, we could ask Cyborg to make you do drills every morning?" Connor teased with a smirk on his face. "Even if he's not the same one." Neither was Clark, but they were making that work, right? It was something. Which was actually sort of weird if he thought about it too long. Better not to think about it at all, really. Though when Kon went around saying things like "I have a Clark", how could it not at least cross his mind?
"Are you kidding?" Connor blurted a second later as he realized what Kon had just said. "We can't just let your birthday go by and do nothing about it! Especially if you're going to pick a kick ass day like Halloween. It just wouldn't be right." Halloween was for celebrating anyway, right? And, from what he'd read and seen in movies, no one did Halloween like the Americans. So of course he wanted in on it! And if he got to celebrate a good friend's birthday in the process, then why not?
Of course there was also the issue of him considering himself a freak. And Connor couldn't let that go. He could ignore the fact that just a few days ago his friend was dead. But he couldn't let him beat himself up. "And you're not a freak," he defended, a bit angrily. Not at Kon, but at the circumstances that had let him feel that way. "Don't you go around thinking that. And you're obviously not the biggest freak here. I mean...come on, mate, look around!"
