Who: Margarida
What: Finally emerges from hiding
When: 26th September, mid morning
Where: The Complex grounds.
Rating: TBD
Status: In Progress

Margarida had been hiding. She'd found an alley. Made herself a crude shelter from a material she didn't know, it was warm in this land. And she'd hidden there for days. Not wanting to admit that maybe she was in over her head in this. As much as she knew she should ask for help. Find a convent. Something? She just hadn't been able to. Because she'd been pulled through time, pulled into a world she knew was not her own. A world she could never understand and it felt to her like Witchcraft. Which meant that she was truly wicked and evil and should just remain away from people. It felt to her like it had when Tamara had whispered so sweetly into her ear. Had used her honeyed words and lies and tricks to turn her head to darkness. And it had been so tempting. It had taken everything she was, every bit of faith she possessed not to say yes to the deal Tamara was offering. It sounded so simple. Ten years of a perfect life. No plague, no watching friends die. Even money enough to live a good life and provide for those that came after. And 30 would have been a good age. More than most her age would have lived, what with illness and everything. Her life would have been charmed.

She still didn't know why she'd run to St Benedicts. Tamara had said to come to her, she had to seal the deal with of all things a kiss. And she'd been tempted, she'd walked the filthy grimy streets of her home for hours and hours and not long before the allotted time she'd past the Nunnery. It was holy ground, the demon wouldn't follow her there, she couldn't follow her there. And Margarida knew the weapons to use if she did, she'd been under her thrall long enough to have learned some things. The temptation of Tamara had very nearly overwhelmed the girl but in the end she'd decided to beg for help, for forgiveness. And she'd hurried inside in tears. She still had no idea why the sisters had taken in an unhealthy girl of one and twenty and set her on the path to righteousness but they had. And now, here in this world she believed it had to be a test. She'd spent the last few days praying. Begging God's aid. Begging him to help her in this forsaken world. But he hadn't answered. There were no signs or portents. But she would remain strong because that's what she'd been taught. She was still just a novitiate. Still just a weak minded fool who had nearly trusted in the word of a temptress.

So finally, on the third day since she'd been taken and sent here, Margarida emerged from her hiding place and braved the new world. She knew she needed to find help, needed to find a friend in this strange place and needed God to aid her. She needed to remember not to take people at their word because sometimes people lied. Sometimes people deceived just as Tamara had done. She was dirty, probably smelled dreadful and was dressed in the black and white of a convent novitiate. Demure as she was supposed to be but not fancy. She didn't deserve fancy. Her penance was very simple. She had to follow her Lords teachings until the sinful urges Tamara had loosed in her were destroyed. That was the only way in which she'd overcome them. This place though. It wasn't helping matters one bit.

She walked a ways from her alley and prayed again that He would send her a guide. Someone pure and good that would show her the way home. Or that would help her find a convent where she could make penance for listening to the tempting words of a demon witch. Tamara hadn't done this. She couldn't have done this. That thought may have been the only one to keep Margarida sane. She kept walking and praying until finally she turned a corner and looked up in shock, before her was a building, light shining on it at just the right way...was this her sign? It was a very strange sign if it was and there was still the fact that she knew nothing of this world bar that there were good people who would help and bad people who would trick and deceive. It was for her to find the difference.

Okay, this was fucking weird. Screw that song between Mark and Joanne in that stupid musical. Being mistaken for an angel of God? Fucking. Weird. Still, it did give him some perspective. Quite obviously someone who was displaced. Okay, so getting her to the complex would be a good idea. She had mentioned demonic temptation... so there was that risk. Of course, if she was trying to fool him, well, she wouldn't be getting in. And those better equipped for dealing with that could figure out what to do with her if she was tricking him. Still. That nagging feeling of having to protect her was being annoying and so Roger sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he contemplated just how to answer this question. And fuck. A nun. That meant he probably should try to watch his mouth... Fuck fuck fuck.

"A lot of us are lost here. This place, the complex.." Nodding towards it, Roger turned his attention back to Margarida. "It's for people like us. People who found themselves here, lost. It really fu----sucks. But you're not alone in that."

Oh god, he was so failing at this. Why the fuck did he have to be the welcoming committee? He'd brought two people here. Mark. And Florence. This? Oh man, this was out of his realm of expertise. At least he didn't have to fucking censor himself.

"As for God. Uh. Well." Fuck this was hard. Where was Angel when she was needed!? She was so much better at dealing with this sort of shit! Okay. Drag queen might scare the nun. But still, Angel made people forget that sort of thing. "I wouldn't say so exactly? I mean. I guess if we're choosing between Hell and Heaven, yeah, I'm fighting on the side of heaven? But I wouldn't say I'm an angel... Just someone who doesn't want Hell to win."

Awkward awkward AWKWARD. He was curious about the comment on repenting. He didn't really get Catholicism. But hey, religion in general was weird.

"Look. Why don't I bring you inside where it's safe and I can make you some tea or something so you can get sorted out. Don't worry. No demons can get in, the place is building is protected from demons."
