Who: jaded!Elphaba and OPEN What: Elphaba is going a bit stir crazy and goes for a walk. With green skin. In broad daylight. This most certainly will end well. When: This afternoon Where: A street in Lawrence Warnings: Language, possible Wicked Witch wrath? Anything else is TBA depending on who shows up.
During the past week, Elphaba had gone outside a couple times, mostly to just ride her broom and get a sense of freedom. She was still uncertain of going anwhere, and she wasn't exactly sure she believed anyone other than Morrible was responsible for this. But she wasn't in Oz anymore, and there was no Gale Force to arrest her on sight. So she finally got up the nerve to go outside in the middle of the day. What harm could come that? She wasn't a wanted criminal here, and she had no enemy here. Though she was horrified when she discovered the monkeys and kitten in the house had no ability to talk. Of course she'd then gone and done some reading on the animals of this world and discovered none of them had the ability to talk. So perhaps there wasn't anything like the Wizard behind the animals here not speaking. Though she didn't like how some of them were kept in cages.
Elphaba headed out of the house, picked a direction and started walking. Now, if she'd known it would've been better to disguise her natural skin color, she would have done so before leaving. Though of course being ridiculed and ignored for that wasn't new to her. Elphaba had an extremely think skin when it came to such things. But that had been in Oz, she knew what to expect and what was expected of her. Here? The rules were different, but she didn't see this as a second chance and being good. If it was up to her, she'd continue her one woman revolution here, but there wasn't anything to revolt against. It was difficult for her to find any real purpose here, aside from staying in that attic and away from people that claimed to know her and be her friends. She had no friends and she didn't understand why people, namely Galinda, seemed to have an affinity for her or even care what she had to say. No one ever cared about her, they only cared about Nessarose. Sweet, perfect, popular Nessarose. Oh how much she loathed her sister. Nessarose always got whatever she wanted, got all the attention. Elphaba? She was barely more than a smudge on the wall. As such, she'd formulated herself into a dangerous smudge, one no one would suspect until it was too late.
"What, you think it's Halloween all ready? You're a month too early, lady."
Elphaba stopped as she heard the voice that was seemingly directed at her. She looked at the man, a slightly puzzled look on her face.
"What are you talking about?"
"Seriously? How high are you?"
At that, Elphaba just shook her head and moved on, not even dignifying that man with any further response. She'd never understood people, and the people in this place she understood even less. She quickly put that encounter out of her mind and went back to her own thoughts. She was glad her sister wasn't here, or anyone from the world she knew. She wouldn't be able to handle that level of idiocy on top of everything here. Though she still didn't understand why Fiyero of all people was living in the same house she'd found herself. What was going on around here?
"Wicked Witch fanatic, are you? Didn't know they let the crazies out alone." Another voice interrupted her thoughts. Elphaba again stopped, and this time she was a bit irked by the words.
"Excuse me?"
"Oh got an attitude, do you? You like the Wicked Witch or something?" The man rephrased.
"I don't like anyone, this is how I am." She crossed her arms.
"Forgive me, they apparently did let the crazies out unattended today. Why don't you just go back so they can put you in a straight jacket in a nice, padded room?"
Elphaba frowned deeply. "I am not crazy. You think I'm a freak? From my point of view you're the freak with your pale skin. So why don't you save your pathetic little insults before I turn you into a tin man and hope it rains so you rust solid."
