Sexy takes you where you need to go ([info]thedoctorswife) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:sexy/tardis, the doctor (10)

Who: Mirror!Ten and Sexy!
What: Trying to talk sense into her doctor that THIS IS A VERY BAD IDEA. Let's see how well that goes when one speaks in riddle, shall we?
When: Tonight!
Where: Wherever Ten has decided to set up shop for his plan of ridiculousness.
Warnings: Should be none beyond the potential to be confused

Sexy was worried. Very worried. Human feelings were very large and vast, they were confusing. But she was managing to put words to the feelings she was going through. This one was worry. The suffocating sensation where she couldn't see forward, where thoughts didn't make sense. She felt agitated, like she always had to move. True, it could be adjusting to this body, to the motions humans made, but she was certain that the sensation of worry was behind this. She had been concerned back on House, devastated at the TARDIS graveyard... but at least there, her thief was still himself. He wasn't talking crazy talk. Okay. That was relative. The Doctor, no matter his incarnation, was crazy. But there was a difference between the crazy the Doctor usually was and the crazy this mirror version of his tenth regeneration was being.

She couldn't stand staying inside the TARDIS. Inside herself. Very strange, but Sexy was adjusting to that particular peculiarity. And the fact that she was not dying in this shell when she really should have died when she had shown up. Of course, with all of the paradoxes this place had going on, Sexy was having problems. The crossing of timelines was one thing, people showing up from different points in time. That was normal. But this? Where timelines were wrong and mirror versions showed up in their steed, time lines and universes converging at dizzying paces. This was differently, so very very different. People were wrong and she couldn't handle it. Her thoughts were more fractured, and as she was still learning how to handle the very strange sensation of voicing her thoughts, they often came out in a mess to begin with. Now they stopped mid way through and as she had no filter, she just spoke. Sentences breaking up and going onto another tangent all together. The Doctors seemed to understand her, and she had a feeling Romana did as well, but that probably had something to do with being from Gallifrey. They were Time Lords (and Lady) and she was the TARDIS. Or had been. Or was she still?

It was only a matter of time before Sexy found the mirror version of her thief. The mirror version who thought he was right to re-write everything. Oh, he had his intentions for why but it was still wrong. It went against everything yet he didn't care. He truly felt he was right. And he tried to convince her it was okay but it wasn't. It would never be okay. Walking into the location, Sexy looked around to see what her thief was doing, canting her head to the side. He knew the mechanics, but there was so much more to it. And she wasn't going to help him. Not like this. She had told him, well, the non-mirror Eleventh regeneration that she took him where he was needed even if it wasn't what he wanted. This was the same thing. She would do what he needed, not what he wanted. Which was to not help in this madness.

"Everything will vanish." And that's al; there was to it. By re-writing everything, everything vanished and was replaced. And no one would know the difference. Wrapping her arms around herself, Sexy looked to Ten. They had been through so much together, even if this wasn't her thief in that he made that one decision that changed everything, he was still her thief and the way he interacted with her on the boards proved he still had stolen her and flew with her and thus, they had been through so much together. She had watched different species interact with one another through their travels and she knew that experience with others created bonds. That they could make sense in a nonsensical world and so she would see if that worked. He had to be stopped before everything was gone and new problems arose.

"You didn't answer me." He left what he was doing and crossed the space. he didn't question how she'd found him in this vacant warehouse, how she'd known in which of the several cavernous rooms he'd set up shop. She was his TARDIS. She could find him anywhere. She had the whole of time and space at her fingertips, and through her, so did he. Usually.

"Please," he said, reaching out to her with one hand. "Let me help you. Let me do something to make this better. I can. You know I can. You can see it, can't you? You can see what the Skasis Paradigm let me do in my own universe. It's stable. It's safe. You still let me travel when and where I need to go. You can do that again, for your Doctor."

He was so imploring. She could hear it in his voice. He really truly wanted to do what he thought was right. He wanted to help. But he was blinded by what he desired and thought of as right to see why it was so very wrong. Still, she opened her eyes and looked at him. She wanted that. To be able to travel again. To no longer be in a linear time line where things moved too slowly. It stretched on and on. Always the same. She wanted to be in her right form. This body hurt. It was as if she was trying to break out yet couldn't. And while the body should die, it didn't. Trapping her.

But not at this cost. Not at the cost of going against the very nature of time. To erase what had happened. To erase having gotten to talk to the Doctor...

Sighing sadly, Sexy reached out and touched the mirror Doctor's cheek before shaking her head.

"Still my brilliant thief who made a decision. Twists and turns and knots. Frayed at the edges, so miniscule. Too much. Far too much." The paradox alone of the Skasis Paradigm was overwhelming. The building blocks should never belong to one person. "Brilliant mad man. Doesn't make it right, though."

"But I can," he insisted. "Don't you see?" He raised a hand and set it gently over hers. He could only imagine how it felt for her, trapped in that body that should have been dying but wasn't. He'd had felt the energy of the Time Vortex confined to a mortal form, felt it tearing apart every cell of his body. How it wasn't ripping through the fragile tissues of a human form he didn't know, didn't understand. It should have been impossible. He wasn't certain even the Skasis Paradigm could rewrite that, not and still leave the body a human body.

"You're my TARDIS. You showed me the universe. You took me so many places, let me meet so many people and see so many things. You saved me. You brought Rose back to me. How can I leave you like this? How can I leave you hurting and helpless and in the middle of a war?"

"Very well I see."

He was so insisting. She could hear the earnestness in his voice, see it come off of him. Even wrong, he was still her Doctor. Still trying to help. She knew that, it was who he was. But this was too much and he couldn't see it. She doubted he ever would. Pressing her lips together as he pressed his case with her, trying to win her to his side, Sexy didn't know what to say. Nothing she said would make him understand. Especially if he tried to convince her that he could help. How could he not help her after all they had been through with one another.

His assessment was correct, of course. That it should be impossible that she wasn't destroying the body. But the Seal had fixed that. Drove her mad in the process, but it had stopped the destruction for the time being. So she just leaned in and kissed his cheek.

"Because if you change this, we never got to talk.. Never said hello." It was impressive, the ability to form a coherent sentence in the chaos that was going on around her. But it seemed that the contact with the Doctor, wrong or not, had a slightly grounding affect on her. It focused her thoughts. Oh, the time around him was all wrong, the alterations far too painful for her to see because of how they had changed him... still, she was currently holding on.

She knew what she had done for him. He had done the same for her. Well, maybe not the Rose part, that was strictly him. But the saving and traveling, they had done for one another. And here he wanted to save her again.. but to change it.

"The essence will be wrong. Strangling and suffocating. Stable by holding too tight. Too painful." Feeling her vision blur as more chaos took over the place because of the time paradoxes, Sexy took a breath to steady herself as she once again closed her eyes.

"My Doctor. Deep inside, bigger on the inside. You know.... you see."

"I won't change it, then." The Doctor carefully moved her hand away from his cheek and clasped it between both of his own. "I won't change the past. I'll just give the future a little nudge. You'll still have the chance to meet me, to talk with me, to say hello. That's the beauty of the Skasis Paradigm. Whatever you want to keep can be kept. It doesn't have to go anywhere."

It was brilliant, he reflected, to finally be able to speak to her and hear her voice in return, clear and put into words rather than impressions and feelings. That part of having her here like this he didn't mind at all. That part he knew he would have wanted to keep had this happened to his TARDIS in his own universe. How could he blame her for wanting to keep it as well?

"Help me. You see so much. You could help me build the engines for the Skasis Paradigm in half the time. We could save this universe together, just like we always do."

It was a step in the right direction, she supposed. That he was willing to not change the past anymore. Still, the fact that he wanted to mess with time at all in such a drastic way was distressing. That he still thought that the Skasis Paradigm was the answer to all of this. How could she make him see? And not just for her, but for everyone?

Before she could respond though, he was asking her for her help. To help save this universe as if it was normal for them to do so. And it was. She took him where he needed to go to do good and help... But he merely used his intelligence and quirky habits and screwdriver. He never ripped apart the very essence of time and space to make it happen. Oh, she knew he was right. Between the two of them, they could build the engines much quicker. She could put her essence into it to give it life even though it required imagination, but her thief had that in spades. Too many cracks. The Silence.

"Silence will fall... the Pandorica will house you. I can't do it. Can't do that to you. Beautiful madman... The answer is here. No re-writing, no nudging. Not the way, don't lose yourself. Please..."

The Doctor shook his head, not understanding. "The Pandorica's just a myth. Maybe not in your universe. Maybe not in his. It is in mine. Won't you just look? You can do that, can't you? You can follow the timelines. Look at mine. Use them to find my universe. You'll see. It's safe. It's stable. It's alive and vibrant. Oh, there are a few people who don't like it, but that's always going to happen, in any universe, but the majority ... The Time Lords are grateful. They've changed for the better. They can see now how important it is that we do something instead of just sit back and watch. They don't remember the Time War, but they know about it. I made sure that they did, that they could learn its lessons without having to live with the pain of it."

He was proud of the civilization he had built. He'd thought it out carefully before bringing Gallifrey back, made a few little tweaks to ensure that what had happened in his past never happened again. A very few Time Lords, those that were closest to him, had been given a glimpse inside of his memories to prove without a doubt that the Time War had been real, that what he had done was done to save them all. These measures and others had helped to solidify his authority, to make him the president once again and sway the majority of his people to support his efforts.

She should have realized he would not think the Pandorica real. After all, even her Doctor, the one who was from her same universe had thought it nothing but a fairytale until he had been imprisoned there. It was meant to scare, but it was very real.

"Myths based in truth." Myths had to start somewhere. Maybe blown out of proportion, but they started somewhere. And she knew that, even if the Alliance had not built the Pandorica, someone would and they would capture this Doctor. He was re-writing history, the future, the universe and it would be destroyed. He said it was stable. But the cost was too high. The abuse of power too strong holding him. Still she did give a small nod. She would follow his time stream. See where it led.

Oh. It was vibrant for certain. So many Time Lords and TARDISes still alive. But beneath it all, discontent. People manipulated to do as he wanted. Fear. It spread through the universe. Fear that things would be re-written all because the Doctor might feel it 'necessary'. It made her feel so full of emotion, words she didn't know how to express. She felt something fall down her cheek but she didn't know what it was. She didn't understand why her body responded like this.

"They will destroy you...." It hurt. Seeing what she was seeing. The future could be just as painful as the past. She felt the tears but did not comprehend them. Did not understand. She felt weak, her body swaying from the stress of what was going on around her, in front of her. "Not the answer. Never the answer. Answers in here. Not a paradigm."

"They won't," he insisted. "They can't. I know what you see. You see the Time Lords who disagree. You see a handful of malcontents who think we'll all be better off if things go back to the way they were. I know about them. I've been working to stop them. I've been trying to help them see how wrong they are. I don't want to hurt them. I don't want to have to change them. I only threaten to give them something to think about, to deter them, to remind them of what's at stake. I'll only change them as a last resort, to protect the others, to protect them. They think the Time War should be restored, that they're prepared for what will come of the universe and of them if it is. They don't know what they're doing. That's why they're fighting me. They're blind to the truth."

She didn't like this. She didn't like this at all. He wasn't listening. He at least used to listen but now, he was so drunk on power, so convinced he was right he wouldn't listen, not even to her. She couldn't breathe. Breathing was important for human bodies. And she couldn't. Too much stress. The paradoxes spinning out of control. The more he talked about it, the worse it became.

"NO!"

Shaking her head, Sexy pulled her hand from his and began to pace, wringing her hands, tugging on her hair. She had been doing this a lot the past week. It kept her from turning off and falling down.

"Ticking away, waiting. Planning and plotting and fear and discontent. Wrong. Very wrong. Can't see. Too blind. Power washing over, too much. Wrong. Can't breathe. Falling falling down and spiraling. Destruction. Can't change. No matter what, it will happen. Nothing can stop. Let it go. Let it go!"

She couldn't see. The Doctor's heart sank as he realized that his ship, his beloved TARDIS, couldn't see what he saw, couldn't see what her other self must see, if she still carried him through time and space without protest.

... no. No, that wasn't right. She wasn't his ship, wasn't his TARDIS. She belonged to another Doctor, a different Doctor, a Doctor who agreed with the renegades back on Gallifrey, a Doctor who, if they were anything at all alike, was willing to stop him.

Would that Doctor go so far as to send the TARDIS to him as a spy? Or perhaps something else? Something worse.

The Doctor drew back, his expression growing dark. "You're here for him. You're here because he thinks I should be stopped. Is that what you're going to do? Stop me? Well it isn't going to happen? Do you understand me? I won't allow it! Get out! Go! Now! I don't want to have to change you, but I will. I'll rewrite your entire timeline from its very beginning. His, too. If you want to keep either of them even remotely intact, leave! Don't come to me again!"

She didn't like it when he did that. She didn't like what he had become. This was why it was dangerous, because it turned a brilliant man into this. Someone who only saw what he wanted to see, not what was truly there. Even when she tried to tell him. When she tried to show him. Couldn't he see? No. He didn't want to and now he was paranoid.

"I found you.... here for you...."

But then he was saying he'd rewrite her timeline, her Doctor's. He was saying it and he would. She had no doubt about that. And so she looked down and closed her eyes, taking a breath to try and stop the spinning. But it wasn't stopping. It would never stop. Not like this. It would spiral and suffocate and she couldn't handle that.

"Goodbye, mirror Doctor...."

She never wanted to say goodbye to him. She never had. Simply hello, how it was nice to meet him. But this Doctor? All she could do was say goodbye. Still, she could not let him do this... So she made her way to where he'd been tinkering, placing her hand on it. No, it would never work. Not here. Even with his brilliance, he couldn't make it work. And she made sure that it wouldn't work, the power wouldn't exist.

"I'm sorry..." and with that, Sexy left, dejected and lost and confused. She needed to get back to her Doctor. She needed to not be here anymore. But the roads were stretching and contracting and bending. The time lines were fracturing and splintering and knotting and tripping. She was lost. So very lost. Searching the mirror!Doctor's timeline had skewed her. Made it hard to locate the real Doctor. Her Doctor. She needed to make sure that the mirror did not change him as well.

[Oops, no Skasis Paradigm for you, U MAD?]
