Even as she was let go of, Svetlana remained on edge, as if expecting another hug attack at any moment. True, hugs were not evil, they did not cause bodily harm but if it was unwelcome then it was upsetting. Add in that most of the physical altercations Svetlana had been involved in as of late that didn't involve her daughters were borne out of anger and resentment and most likely accepted by the KGB, well, she was definitely going to be wary. Even if Brittany seemed completely harmless.
"Thank you." Svetlana was quite proud of the names she had chosen for her daughters. Fayina meaning free one and Jelena meaning shining light. But then Brittany was making comments about the names sounding like figure skating names and she could only blink and wonder just what was being insinuated. Yes, there were many Russian figure skaters, but was it a dig? Or just an observation? Svetlana really had no idea. It was hard to tell with the people here.
