Entry tags:amy pond, rose tyler

Who: Rose Tyler and Amy Pondlliams. (What, works for me!)
What: Commiserating and being decidedly British
When: After Amy learns Rory went poof
Where: A pub! A real live pub! With PROPER chips!
Rating: I actually have no idea
Status: Incomplete

Okay, Rose would be lying if she said curiosity didn't spur her need to meet this Amy Pond. When she'd met Sarah Jane, it had taken her completely by surprise. And meeting Donna and Martha had been more of a need to save the Universe from Daleks rather than some actual wanting to meet them, though she didn't regret it. And Romana, hell, she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to meet the woman who could command a man to commit genocide to his own planet.

But Amy was different. They were here under the same circumstances. She knew a Doctor that Rose didn't, which was a bit odd in itself. She seemed lovely, had a husband and yet still traveled with the Doctor... And frankly, after being left behind rather spectacularly, Rose didn't view the Doctor's newer friends as competition. People in her place. It couldn't be her, and she'd accepted that. Well, kind of. It was all a lot to take in.

Besides, who was she kidding? She desperately needed a pint and some chips, in this city more than ever. And while 'french fries' were lovely, really, and still deliciously fried potatoes, it wasn't the same. So she found the address Amy had given her and started keeping an eye out for a redhead. Should be easy enough, except their did seem to be an abundance of them in this town.

Maybe the Biblical seals of hell had a thing for gingers?

Rose was surprised to hear a Scottish voice come out of the ginger who approached, but she still smiled. She'd have smiled more if she could forget her own trip to Scotland, a werewolf, and Queen Victoria herself. But she was getting used to dealing with memories that were behind her, and she made herself look genuinely pleased to meet the young woman, very close to her own age. The Doctor had told Adam that he only traveled with the best, and Rose believed that fully. If he had chosen Amy as a companion and a friend, she could be trusted. Rose knew that without a doubt.

"Yep, that's me," she offered, smiling sympathetically as she took in Amy's red eyes and puffy face. What would she be like in Amy's position? Oh, sure, she was worried about what was going on back home, but from the things she'd heard, they weren't missing her. She hadn't up and disappeared in their time and she supposed that's what mattered. But a husband? That was different. Twenty years after her father's death, her mum had still missed him and loved him. That sort of love was pretty incredible, and if that's what Amy was feeling? Especially after having her Rory there and then taken away? Yeah. Rose would happily make sure the girl got home after her tenth drink because God knew she deserved it.

She wasn't going to be the one to bring it up, though. She'd let Amy bring it up on her own time. There were a dozen subjects they could talk about without batting an eye, many more if they thought it over. If Amy wanted to just forget the reason she was there, it was her decision and Rose wouldn't push. Though she did say, "I'm thinking we get some ale in you. I know I could use one."
