Getting this one to do as he wished was going to be far too easy. She was, after all, a character come to life, one that every household knew of, because the Wizard of Oz was one of the most popular movies of all time. Even he, Lucifer - formerly trapped in his cage for thousands of years - knew of her tale. At least, he knew of the portrayal that was displayed throughout millions of screens, one that made Elphaba out to be quite the villain. There were other stories, of course, that defended her nature and made her out to be relatively sympathetic, but those stories only gave Lucifer more firepower, because the sympathy for the devil card was the one that he had invented.
Her pain was genuine. Her feelings in regards to her mistakes were real. Lucifer understood what it meant to feel that way, as he had his own weight of emotions buried deep down inside himself. Yes, people thought him to be pure evil because the bible and word of mouth had portrayed him as such, but realistically, people thought him to be so horrible because of his Father's doing. It was punishment for standing against him. Whittling stories together, making him out to be some dark, twisted creatures with horns and a pointed tail. God used those fairy tales to make the human race fear and hate him more than anything else in all of existence.
Well, all right, there was also the fact that Lucifer wanted to destroy them all, but they wouldn't have been so aware of his existence if Father and his loyal army of soldiers hadn't been so dedicated to making his life a living hell. Which, given his experience in the cage, Lucifer had no difficulty in admitting that they were ultimately successful at doing for the past several centuries.
Everything was different now. Lucifer was free. He had a plan and, thus far, it was going quite well. The only thing that Lucifer had to do to ensure that his plan stayed on track was throw out a few hard cases at the 'rebellious forces' tucked away in Lawrence. Namely? Lucifer found that targeting those that had been dragged through the seal, turning them around in every direction, then shoving them back at the people they cared out was an extremely powerful and destructive maneuver. If nothing else, the path of destruction that Cade had left behind would certainly attest to that.
Yet it wasn't enough. The overly angsty, anger ridden man had fallen far too easily. Lucifer needed to go a different route.
She was dreaming. Re-living her pain, as Lucifer often found to be a refreshing treat for when he hopped into the heads of those he sought to speak with. Lucifer quietly observed for a time, standing invisibly in the background as Elphaba journeyed from one memory to the other, eventually settling for a moment in time where she appeared to be protesting against the sins marked upon her. The perfect moment. Lucifer gracefully stepped in to seize it, appearing in the form of his current vessel (it was slowly deteriorating, something that would far be from an issue if Sam Winchester would budge up and say yes, but it was holding together for now, which was good enough for Lucifer). Light haired and blue eyed, the archangel gave off an air of eerie calm, a tactic far more effective than the downright intimidating.
He didn't need to say much. A few well placed words could work wonders, if appropriately placed. "Are you certain of that?"
