Who: Everyone involved in the Take Down a Dalek thread What: Taking down a Dalek, unsurprisingly! When: Late night Where: the streets of Laurence Rating: TBD Status: In Progress [Note: Yes, I'm getting all of mine into the opener to get them sorted. Because of the huge number of characters a posting order would be a silly plan and feel free to set up sub threads, just mark who is meant to be in them!]
She had a soldier's training, but she didn't think anything could have prepared her for this. It didn't seem to matter how many times Martha faced the Daleks, every time they sent a cold fear through her. They had slaughtered their way through Manhattan, she had been the only one from Project Indigo to even get out alive, thanks to her use of an untested teleporter.
She had watched the Daleks be destroyed, had seen Davros left in the burning ruin of his crumbling empire as the TARDIS had left, but still it hadn't seemed to be enough. Somehow, through time travel or manipulation or even magic, somehow the Daleks always survived. When she'd first heard the call through the radio she had wanted to just curl up and cry.
But her training took over. Now she was dressed in her black UNIT uniform, her hair tightly tied back as she looked out grimly, every inch the UNIT officer. Her arms were folded tightly across her chest as she nodded tightly to Faith, giving her the order to go.

Faith received the nod with one of her own, jogging off as she had been ordered. Once upon a time she would have fought every single order with a brash attitude and a casual indifference, but this time she was prepared to follow them. Maybe it was a sign of maturity.
It didn't take her long to find a Dalek, that eerie glide it was doing down the street making her distinctly uncomfortable. Plan bait. Fantastic. At least she knew she was still fast.
Aiming her gun, even knowing it wouldn't do anything to the alien robot thing, she fired it directly at the head, catching it's attention before she bolted into a run, faster than any human could, luring it towards the rest of the group, dodging and weaving to avoid any hits from the weapon.

Gwen was nervous. The last time she'd tried being on Team Good Guy she had ended up being beaten up by a giant rock demon thing blotting out the sun. Not exactly fun times. But they were all stuck here and she had no desire to get exterminated or anything, so she supposed that meant being helpful.
Backing away from the people, wanting some space and really wanting to avoid accidental contact, she slipped off her gloves. Sparks ran down her arms, over her fingertips, as the feeling of power in the air increased. The energy in the sky began to gather as the lightning began to form, almost a comforting whisper in her mind. As she heard the younger Slayer girl round the corner and Martha shouted the order, she began to let loose, streaks of lightning crashing down from the sky behind the Dalek as she sent out sparks from her hands. She avoided hitting the thing, not wanting to accidentally feed the machine or whatever, but the bright electricity all around it would hopefully distract the thing enough that it would be disorientated.

Hermione's wand was out and ready. Not that she was in any way sure what spells would even work on this thing, but she was just about ready to try all of them. Aliens were so outside of her area of expertise, but magic was always worth a try. After that she fully intended to hide behind some of the stronger people while they quickly came up with a new plan.
She wasn't sure if she felt comforted by the presence of the other wizards, knowing that she wasn't alone, or more panicked by the fact they were, sort of, a younger generation. Even if they were technically the same sort of age as she was, she still felt the ridiculous need to protect them.
"Everyone ready?" She called out, her mind already thinking up the first spell to use as the sparks from Gwen Raiden lit up the street.
