WHO: Jessica and Freddie WHAT: Jessica's arrival and wtfery! WHEN: Night, May 8th. WHERE: Residential neighborhood to down town. WARNINGS: Nothing really.
One moment Jessica was in heaven and the next...she just wasn't! It was startling. Jessica couldn't help but marvel at everything around her. Being alive again was....definitely a sensation. She wasn't sure what to make of it, actually. She could feel the wind brush against her skin, blowing the white dress that she was in. Her blond curls danced slightly in the wind too; it was so strange to feel the whisper of coolness on her skin again. Part of her was elated because....maybe this was some kind of second chance, but the other part was worried. She remembered heaven. That's where she should be right now, not here... She'd never been to Kansas (that was where she was, which she gathered from signs) in her life, nor had she ever wanted to go there, really. She took a few long moments to rack her brain as to why she might be in Lawrence, Kansas, of all places. She couldn't come up with an answer, not at all.
She wasn't supposed to be here. What was gong on? This wasn't right. There was no way that she could come back like this. She needed to find out what was going on. She couldn't be a ghost....she was positive she couldn't. She had moved on, she had been in heaven already. The first thought that came to her was to call her parents, to call her family. They'd want to know if she was okay, they would want to hear from her. She desperately wanted to talk to them too. It was almost tempting to call Sam too, but...her family first! The idea of calling her family caused Jessica to feel elation, practically. Before she could call home she had to get out of this residential neighborhood, though. As nice as the grass looked this would get her nowhere. She needed to find a phone booth, or even a pay phone. It didn't matter, whichever she stumbled on first.
Jessica didn't hesitate in the least. She began to walk. Her eyes scanning the area around her. This couldn't be heaven. It didn't feel the same, not at all.
Jessica didn't have anything on her, but she was positive that she could get her parents to answer the phone if she called collect. She wasn't thinking clearly. Lost in her thoughts, Jessica almost missed the phone booth that she had been looking for. Doubling back to the booth, Jessica entered it without hesitation. It took her only a moment to dial a number collect. And it took only a moment for her to realize that if she, a dead woman, called her parents, she might give them heart attacks.. She didn't want to call her family and get their hopes up, or scare them to death. The same would be for Sam...
She couldn't do that, not to any of them. But what was she supposed to do? After a moment she stepped out of the phone booth, only to find herself standing there, sedentary on the sidewalk. She didn't have a clue what she should do right now. She didn't know what was going on. So, she stood there...
